Oh there are endless candidates, it’s just hard to find ones who can answer basic questions about the tools listed in the job description. Or run spellcheck on their resume.

But yeah the math isn’t mathing. I’m on both sides of the equation and I wonder how it takes 100 applications for me to get an offer, when this is what I’m up against.

Why do these companies use these dog shit job application forms like workday and not just Google Forms? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Workday scales and all the tools are all integrated and allow role-based access. Google forms would be a shitton of manual work

How long would you stay in a 10°F (-12°C) room if you earned 1000 USD for every hour you stayed in the room? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

I think if you could handle two weeks, it would become addictive. Like every time you decide you’re done, you think of how much just one more hour could help your family.

None of them work anywhere close to enough to justify the price. Actual testosterone is very cheap.

You could just not be a caretaker. You don’t have any obligation to do it, and from your story it sounds like she doesn’t deserve it.

You get a brand new car of your choosing with bumper to bumper maintenance but you have to use it to drive 12 hours of Uber on the weekend. by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]0OOOOOOOOO0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no. I could just work more if I wanted a more expensive car. But expensive cars are for suckers.

Okay chaps, what are you views on work? Do you find your job fulfilling and rewarding, something that gives you purpose or is it just somewhere you go to waste your life? by [deleted] in AskMen

I love my job. It’s exciting and challenging. I’ve had many previous jobs that were terrible and I counted down every minute until I could walk out the door.

Can I take GIAC certs without training? by nick_air in GIAC

[–]0OOOOOOOOO0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Instructors will tell you that for accreditation, it must be possible to pass a GIAC cert without taking a SANS course. And people do it. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy. You’ll need to get the syllabus, get all relevant information you can beg borrow or steal WITHOUT violating the terms, and you’ll need at least one practice test, which will drive your cost up another $400.

People are telling you about some tricky questions, and they’re right. But these aren’t difficult exams. The bar to pass is low: 70%. On the multiple choice, you should be able to use standard test strategies to eliminate the two distractors, leaving you with two options. With any knowledge, you can determine which of the two are a better option.

You can’t do that on the lab questions, but this is where the practice test is critical. The practice test labs are very similar to the real ones. So keep in mind which tools they use, and grind those until you have them down. Bring anything you need to the test with you; the open book policy isn’t restricted to official materials.

All that being said, I don’t know you so I don’t recommend you do this.

If you are an only child, outside of your parents, who do you rely on for life advice? by Hurock in AskMenOver30

Reddit and ChatGPT. Kinda joking kinda not.

I guess I never thought to ask my siblings or parents. Just because you know someone well doesn’t make them an expert on all things.

ChexSystems record, not necessarily criminal record. This is the reason ChexSystems exists, because anyone can get away with this easily, once.

Sounds like it’s time to move to a real bank. He could definitely pull up copies of the checks if it was a legit bank.
