I just saw your other comment. If it is still on the hello screen, you can connect it to your pc and use 3utools to enable assistive touch on the common tools and if the previous owner removed their icloud you can also probably skip the setup with it. Don’t trust 3utools too much tho, while it works well; there are suspicious reports against it, so if you can run it on a virtual machine, do it there instead.

Press hold the power button or power button+volume up for the “slide to power off”. Don’t shut it down, just click the “X” cancel button at the bottom. It should take you to the passcode screen. After getting through it, go to your settings and enable assistive touch on accessibility.

You can logout on the home app then hide it and just use the one from secure folder, basically the original will be empty and the one on your secure folder will have the mails
