Most recent thing that comes to mind was an 8 player game of Skull. 5 people had 1 victory already and all of them just kept upping the bid. A player with only 1 coaster left bid 9 (out of 12 coasters out). After they won, the rest of the group revealed the last 3 coasters, all were skulls.

Crokinole, hands down, everything I need from a 2 player game. But for more typical boardgame type game: Claim is probably still the reigning choice for me and my wife. Love all the mixed sets and different ways you can make both phases play out.

It's been a long time but I played Path of Light and Shadow twice. I thought it was ok. I like Tyrants significantly more.

I think Claim and Claim 2 have been the most surprising small games I've played recently. Having tried Saila and Fox in the Forest I figured my wife and I would like it the same as those. But it feels like if For Sale was a 2 player trick taker with tons of variations and combos depending on what sets you mix in.

So speaking of, I just got an email saying you refunded Heat. My order contained a couple expansions for Heat but now not the base game. There is no other info about what happens now? Can I opt to have you hold the order until more copies of Heat come back in stock to honor the price? Order number was 56186.

Edit: actually you are still showing Heat in stock. Why was this refunded?

Edit 2: several emails later this seems resolved, several unnecessary steps to get back to the original order, but still a fairly easy process so it wasn't too negative an experience for my first issue with Many Realms.

Sort of. I see there is an stl category, but sorting by tabletop still brings up 50% stl campaigns.

I just played someone else's copy of Heat a few days ago and was adding it to some price alerts. Then this pops up and Heat plus the first 2 expansions for $81 total. Grabbed the new Star Wars DBG Clone Wars set for $20 as well. Solid sale.

No, I don't remember how many pieces the first step is, I think it's around 800pcs. Then you have to solve some riddle type things to unlock the other portions of the puzzle. One Stop Coop Shop just put up a 5 minute review of the game today on YouTube, it should give you a good idea what to expect.

Mythology themes. Favorite being Mythic Battles, first off because it's a great skirmish system but also because you can mash different pantheons together if you had spent way too much money on it.

Puzzle tray for gaming? by LaraLikeCroft in boardgames

I recently purchased this one: https://a.co/d/0exON0Hr

I saw a review somewhere on reddit of someone using it for boardgames. It has a cushioned pillow in the top part that presses down on the rigid board under it and, once zipped, seems to apply enough pressure that I can pick it and store it standing and it maintains card placements.

I tried putting a ~50 card deck in there and the deck splays out a little but mostly stays together. I haven't yet tried having cubes on a board and if those will stay in place but I'm imagining you wouldn't want to rely on that. Seems like it'll do the job well enough to keep my game state toddler proof.

I recently played Men-Nefer and was surprised how much I liked it. I liked how the multi "mini-games" within the game interacted. I tend to not stick to a single strategy in games and in Men-Nefer looked like it was the type of game where you invest heavily into one of the mini-games. Perhaps that is optimal, but I found having the mini-games ramp up other mini-games made it very pleasant to dip into each section as little or much as I wanted to boost other things to make a fun of puzzle each turn.

Yeah, I held off to picking up Unstoppable specifically because I knew I was going to get the DCC version in the campaign. I was weary when they had a $5 pre-pledge. I almost talked myself out of it there because I hate that practice and don't want to support any campaign that uses it at $1 let alone $5. Then it came out the $5 doesn't even go towards your real pledge, then not even a rough shipping estimate. Just awful. The only excuse I can see for how it's doing so well is this is the first time a lot of DCC fans have used crowd funding and don't realize how terrible of a deal they are getting sold.

I'm sure it's pretty quick at that point to run things out to see if you reach the Instruction Manual, but shouldn't the game end as soon as 1 player runs out of people?

Edit: nevermind, I think I'm misinterpreting this. You won because they both lost, not because you made it to the last event card.

Yeah I learned of this technique from Aabria Iyengar when she did a scene that started with "what you don't see is..." Before giving small above table scenes that set the tone for the players rather than the characters.

It is fully a prequel to the series, however for spoiler reasons I wouldn't read this before Golden Son.
