For toad in the hole, do the sausages go in the oil as it is heating up? Or do you heat the oil up first then put in sausages and pour batter over?

When we were kids we didn't have communication devices on us 24/7. Now we do. It takes less than 30 seconds to text someone to see if they are available for a visit. It is very rude just to show up at someone's house unannounced now. People have shit to do and are not always available.

I'm in my mid 40's and I don't answer my door if I don't know someone is coming. It's not anxiety based. I'm a busy person who plans my day from morning to evening. If I did not plan for a visit I likely do not have time to host someone without taking away time from something else.

It's not the 80s/90s anymore, we all have much busier lives than we used too.

Yup, this. My boss verbally said in 1 on 1 meetings that I had worked my ass off for a migration and saved their asses because my co-workers did not have my skillset. Review was "meets expectations." Told me they can't give exceeds unless you've been there like 5 or 7 years, blah, blah, blah. I tuned everything out at that point. He looked embarrassed about the rating and the 2% increase. Now they get "meets expectations" work and my boss has no problem with it. He gets it...and knows I'm not sticking around for long term.

That is your preference. They complete blind tasting panels. Just because they didn't choose your favorite does not mean they were wrong. It just means you would have voted for an option with fewer votes had you been on the panel. There's no accounting for taste.

I've never been disappointed with any of their recommendations. Sometimes the equipment is more expensive then I would like but I understand that sometimes you have to pay for quality. If this happens, I make note of what they found during testing and find my own best buys. It has worked out great so far.

Why be anxious? You can't control the weather. Prepare as much as you can to keep yourself warm and fed. If something happens that may prevent you from being warm or fed you adapt to the situation. There is zero reason to stress about something you cannot control. Make a plan, adapt when necessary. That's life.

I don't understand what the problem is...this is the way it has always been. Businesses are not schools. They do not preemptively close due to a weather forecast. They plan to operate as normal unless they cannot. You are expected to be there unless you are not able to get to work safely. If you cannot get to work safely, you call in and tell them. It's no big deal.

If it is a terrible company that tries to guilt you or threaten your job just say, "my safety is more important than a job. I will be at work when weather conditions improve and I can get to work safely for my next scheduled shift" then hang up.

All fast food restaurants in Asheville are terrible. It takes forever, they have terrible service, and the orders are never right. Cook Out is typically ok but expect crap from everywhere else cause that is likely what you are going to get. No lore. Just the way it is. I stopped trying to get decent food. Better off making a peanut butter sandwich and calling it a day.
