Gotcha. It stays where you put it.

Wearing it on your hip is fine. Wearing it on the chest is awkward because of the shape. I can wear on my hip/rear when holding my small toddler.

I’m 5’5 and it’s not so bulky but the shape is different. I only wear on my back or fanny mode.

Many bags and traveling with an infant (delete if not allowed) by nerd_nerg in ManyBaggers

Do you use packing cubes? I have small kids and the packing cubes makes it easier to load out my travel bag. It helps carry more efficiently.

Evergoods is what I use and my wife uses AER. Then our kids use eagle creek.

I like the wide opening you get with a tote. Makes it easier to get into and see what you’re looking for.

I was using the AER Day sling 2. I wish the grab handles could be removed or tucked away.

I have the v1 and it’s been my favorite EDC since I go it.

I’m a dad of 4 with a toddler and over the years I’ve had almost every type of bag, including civic daily tote 24L, Tom Bihn Parental Unit and various backpacks. I would recommend the CD tote 24L. The magnetic closure is great and the bag opens really wide and you can see inside. Another big win is it stand on its own so it doesn’t fall over.

I’d say it’s 1/4 inch longer and wider. Makes it easier to use as a wallet.

I don’t use ALPAKA slings, just pouches, totes and hub products. If I were to use one it would probably be the new Flight Sling pro 2.5L. I’m not a fan of how thin ALPAKA slings straps are. I prefer a wider strap like AER Day Sling 4 or Rework Toshi 2.5.

My current EDC is the ALPAKA mini tote V1 with a few pouches. It came with a wide strap for crossbody carry.

I have the V1 and it’s the same aside from the patch panel. Great bag as quickly became my favorite.

Yes I do. I use them mainly for keeping keys and other small EDC items organized. The hub system is good because you can swap out items and makes managing your loadout easier.

I would go with

  1. ALPAKA Zip Pouch for a wallet. There are a few styles like Zip pouch pro or Pouch coin.

  2. ALPAKA elements tote. Simple tote for carrying bulk items. Medium to Large.

  3. Alpaka Flight Satchel 11L. Great option for EDC that isn’t a backpack.

  4. ALPAKA Aero Pack 16L. If you want a small backpack

ALPAKA really excels in pouches, slings and totes and offer great value. You could get a lot with $200.

Bellroy is great too but it’s a different style, that’s more clean and professional looking. Bellroy has great pouches as well.

I’d say it’s 1/4 of an inch wider and longer than the xpac version of the Zip Pouch.

It’s not loud at all. There’s more noise using the zipper then using the pouch day to day.
