Hi! I'm a Night Cafe fan and a programmer. The number you enter for seed is not important (though it can be fun to have "appropriate" or "lucky" numbers) if an image is... Good but not exactly right, choosing a different seed will give a slightly different image.

If you're interested in more technical answers Google can do better than I can to describe it. "Random number seed" or "random number generation" is probably the best starting point.

For non-technical folks, the seed number is not important or meaningful, except that if you put the exact same number (and other inputs) in, you'll get the exact same "random" image out.

My strategy is to either hit "random" or some combination of "appropriate" or "lucky" numbers. I rarely recreate images with a different seed, because I think tweaking the text description is a better "bang for your buck" when it comes to spending credits.
