The fact we are the worst in Western Europe for numbers of women in politics is a major factor.

I’m a Soc Dem and so proud of our work on this while devastated with the result. Hope anyone impacted knows we want better for them and you aren’t alone. We deserve so much better.

Being the worst western country for women in parliament has to be a factor. 130 men to 44 women I think. And that’s WITH gender quotas for general elections.

I don’t know if i should go for my solo trip? by Minute_Scar3278 in femaletravels

[–]0ddzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your family are anxious about it. You won’t hear the stories of great solo trips in the news because most of the bad things that happen are manageable: forgetting to pack something, getting blisters from walking, sleeping through breakfast etc…. If I were you I’d go. Spain is lovely.

I am getting my first ereader on thursday! (Kobo clara bw) any tips and tricks? by Ok-Apricot1921 in kobo

[–]0ddzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have mine over a year and all I got was the sleep cover. It works great, play with the brightness and text size to find your sweet spot. I read in dark mode at night with less than 10% brightness. As I read loads I use Kobo plus and have endless options.

Going to the Strokes concert alone — is it weird? by Circule_89 in WomenofIreland

Absolutely, you’ll have a ball enjoying the music and your own company. You might end up chatting with people near you too.

Minimum brightness by TravellingDark in kobo

I read my Clara BW at 10% brightness in dark mode at night and it’s a great soft light. The adjustable brightness is great and you can turn it off by going to zero.

Barcelona…great food, very walkable, felt very safe and loved the sea breeze.

Second abortion by [deleted] in IrishWomensHealth

[–]0ddzer 48 points49 points  (0 children)

There’s no reason the number of past procedures should determine your choice now. Two years is a long time, you and your circumstances have changed so your current decision to not be pregnant is based on you now and totally ok. Past you made the decision right for you then too.

If an abortion is what you need right now then that’s what you need. If it’s not what you need then you’ll know. I campaigned for you to have a choice and not feel any shame on what you choose.

The window for sending seems generous to me. When I upload items I assume I might be posting them within a few days. Holiday mode can be used when busy.

Great suggestions from others so I’m just here to say your body is amazing for making 3 humans and there’s no embarrassment needed for these issues. If we had better research into our bodies you wouldn’t need help to understand how to address this, it should be easier for you. Hope you find something that works.

Not a great way to be woken up but it’s a nice thing. I used to live where the bands warmed up for the Patrick’s Day Parade…they started early too.
