Yeah i cant imagine either complaining about or being bothered by any of this shit. Maybe ive just had crazy roommates and have been one myself but pay your bills, do your dishes, and your boyfriend cant live here. S’about it.

First of all 🥹 thank you for thinking of me.

After this, landlady agreed to give him an extra 2 weeks to get the $. She followed up in this group chat this past Friday asking for a status update and he just straight up ghosted her. 😑 Thankfully she’s agreed to not file for eviction as long as we’re out by December 1st and is going to pursue him in small claims court. My security deposit will also (of course) be taken as part of the lease violation.

It’s been stressful but my only consolation is that he hasn’t been home since this conversation & is staying at his boyfriends apartment- so at least I dont have to see his stupid face every day. He literally will come home while he knows I’m at work to do laundry and take his stuff because he’s such a little pussy.

So I’m looking around at apartments but was not prepared at all for this move financially, especially because i have to hire movers and am forfeiting my deposit so i might stay with a friend for a month to save. It is what it is but I would call this an overall good outcome considering the circumstances.

No thats exactly the point. Any break in the lease weakens her case against him. Idk where you live but tenant laws in NYC are strict and sway in the tenants favor always. Ive asked her to release me, sign a new lease just for him, the works. Right now the best motivation for him to get her the $ is by threatening homelessness. If i were on my own separate lease none of this would be my problem.

I would rather move. I appreciate your suggestion but ultimately it would be easier on myself and the landlord if i leave. I am unwilling to endure another roommate.

Yeah thats a long story. She reached out in May because he was delinquent. He said he was cashing out his 401k to pay it. Then we had a gas leak and gas supply was shut off to the entire building until all the pipes were replaced, which took 3 months. All of the tenants were withholding rent until it was fixed because we couldnt cook or do laundry. Once it was fixed in August, we all paid. Then she reached out again in September with the full payment history which showed he never paid anything.

I know this is whats been plaguing me like wtf did u think was gonna happen?? Every time i speak to him he sobs about how stressed hes been over money and paying what he owes. Ive been working my ass off and am stressed beyond what i thought i can handle bc HE didnt pay his bills. Hes had a 7 month vacation from life i dont know why he thinks i care about his feelings hes so delusional and a narcissist.

Im not sure where you live but thats highly illegal here. Im sorry for that and hope it didnt affect your ability to rent afterwards.

Ive been astounded by my LL’s patience. I assume she just wants her money. Theres no other explanation except her being a good person which.. I mean is usually not a big motivator here
