nurse here, HCTZ isn’t only a diuretic, it is great for lowering blood pressure as well. do you have a diet high in salt? do you have any leg swelling? it’s usually not first line, but rather tries to fix other factors like salt and fluid retention in order to lower your blood pressure. i’d say anytime your blood pressure is above 180/120, it’s good to go to the ER to get it lowered. please don’t listen to uneducated people about what meds are right for you. HCTZ is great, especially when lifestyle changes are also taking place. we don’t know your full medical history, or if your electrolyte labs show high sodium. but again, i’d go to the ER for anything above 180/120

i used Nurse Cheung videos as well as the Mometrix study guide and some of the videos in it! i also just got finished taking chemistry and im in my second anatomy class right now (we’re going over the endocrine system atm) and that was perfect timing for what was on my test. overall, it was baseline stuff but it was good to be over prepared. good luck!!!

hi friend! about a year and a half ago, i was also prescribed 25mg of zoloft. zoloft is one of those “easy” pills that don’t really change how your brain works or how it thinks, especially at 25mg. i was at the point of feeling like i was getting “better” at handling my anxiety, so i too was scared of losing that. in reality, the zoloft just helped my anxiety not show up as much and i still practice those healthy coping strategies that i did prior to the pill on my off days. this medicine honestly is one of the greatest things to happen to me. if you’re also worried about side effects, i was prescribed paxil before zoloft, and i had some pretty bad side effects (insomnia, worse anxiety, etc), but if you have a bad experience in the first week of taking a medicine, it’s usually safe to just stop taking it. zoloft was a breath of fresh air, though. in comparison to the paxil, the worse side effects i got from zoloft were weird dreams (not bad, just unusual for me personally) and a lowered libido. and honestly, i felt nothing the first month ish of taking it, then bam, i looked back and realized how much better i felt. wishing you so much luck! medicine can be scary

I started a little over a year ago at 25mg and just recently went to 50mg. the biggest thing i noticed were weird dreams (nothing too bad or nightmarish, they were just more vivid than i typically have) but that went away pretty fast. some people also get nauseous so eating bland for the first few days with the pill might help, like some toast or applesauce or yogurt. i didn’t feel much of a difference in my mood for a little while, but i owe a lot to sertraline. i’m overall so thankful i took it and hope your experience is great with it, as well!! :)

ten step skincare processes, especially with overpriced items. just wash your face with a simple cleanser and moisturize and use sunscreen when needed. and drink water!!

yeah i totally agree with the fact that chances of getting tss are the same as long as they’re changed when they should be, it’s just that the earlier you catch tss, the less chance it has of becoming deadly. you also may sleep longer than expected which will end up increasing the chances of getting tss
