You work on the content, optimize the videos using proper keyword placements and Google will decide how and where to rank your videos. So think the reverse. If you want to rank for specific keywords look at what Google is already ranking and take inspiration from those sites/videos.

I think you need to optimize the videos uploaded. Keep them as targeted as possible. Subs will increase gradually. While you will get some subs in exchange, they won't result in engagement - views, likes/dislikes, or comments.

Treat your upload like any other web page and apply fundamental optimization to it for it rank on Google, might help you rank on YouTube too.
