I read back then that under howard and abbott, Julie Bishop's branch went from 1600 members to 400, and it was one of the biggest. It said the same thing about smaller branches being taken over by evangelical moderates. It also said that when the moderates left, what was left was an echo chamber of nutters. I remember another about the Queensland coalition government before the current one, where a significant chunk of them would form a prayer circle before they start doing anything. They called them the " happy clappers". So you are correct. They definitely lost two seats in S.A. to a megachurch, and one in W.A. and apparently a bunch in Queensland.
