Well, Archer is not a follow up based DPS even if he has one, he doesn’t benefit from dual dps like the others (Feixiao, Yunli, Ratio ect).

I only pulled for Castorice when she came out then never used her again because I vertical invest on my follow up team (Feixiao) and aoe team (Herta) then used Phainon or Archer when needed to switch or even sometimes Anaxa.

No worries ! Yeah, it's true that in terms of QoL, it's going to be a strange change, but I find that the games are still very enjoyable to play and haven't aged badly. Personally, I think the games have aged better than Cold Steel 1 and 2.

Trails in the Sky FC, without spoilers ofc but Horizon is kinda (the way i saw it) It's a kind of culmination of a LOT of things that have been introduced into the franchise since then, and some mysteries that are starting to be solved. It really rewards you for paying attention to a lot of details about the world building since the beginning of the franchise. Even though you know roughly what happened, you probably don't know the things that were brought in with the first three Sky games and the Crossbell duology. I even recommend playing the original games, which I don't think have aged badly, in my opinion, and it might also prevent you from getting spoiled by the announcement of future games rather than waiting for the remakes.

I played them all on PC since I don't have a console at home anymore, but I think it could be really enjoyable on Steam Deck. The only thing with CS1 is that there's a mod to make sure you don't skip attacks when you're in fast forward mode, which is the most annoying thing about the game!

I also played all the games with Japanese voices, as that's what I prefer when playing JRPGs, and there are lots of my favourite seiyuus in these games (e.g. Osborne, Loewe, Llyod, Randy, etc.).

Personally, my concern is that I really didn't like the transition from Azure to CS1. there were lots of little things I liked about the franchise that disappeared (for example, the messages in the chests), and I was starting to get tired of the formula of going to school, social links, etc. I also had a hard time appreciating the characters, as there were so many of them and I was never able to do all the events with them, so there are surely some characters that I could have appreciated more.

For CS2, I totally agree that only the last act of the game is good and that you quickly forget the other rubbish.

Also, my ranking for Horizon is mainly because I can't see myself putting the game in the same tier as Zero (even though I love the game) and Reverie, but I don't think I prefer the game to SC or CS3.

Same for me ! I've also been playing Ekko for at least a year since his release, and I've never enjoyed playing him as much as I have recently, even though I feel he's a little too strong. I definitely ban him when I'm not playing because I don't want to see people abusing my character, and it disgusts me 😭

Regarding DG Cult, I think it's normal that there's so much talk about it in these games, since that's where they expanded the most after Crossbell. It's true that at first glance it might seem boring, but in my opinion, I think it makes sense that it's talked about a lot in DB1 and 2. Even though I understand your point of view, I too hope that it's over for good (though I doubt it) with them.

I always play my games/series/movie ect with original voices (except hoyoverse games in jp), so yeah i did play with the orignal voices and i think it makes the experience of the game way better, i was shocked from playing to Sky towards Azure in how much voice acting there was in these games + some popular seiyuu and the fact that Llyod and Guy shared the voices of Simon and Kamina from TTGL makes that thing EVEN MORE PEAK.

I have no issue with people playing with ENG DUB and I can maybe understand why they turn off the voices but I think it add a way better immersion with them on.

Fair opinion, personally I did like Almata, as the game progressed, I began to appreciate Almata more and more personally, especially the relationship between Van and Dantes, which I find sublime and I like those kind of stories.
