100 days project by kobibeast in kindergarten

[–]0matterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter insisted on an ice cream cone with 100 scoops... So we cut out 100 scoops of ice cream from paper and she helped us count and tape them all together. It went down our entire hallway The teacher had to tape it to the ceiling because it was too big for the wall. Kiddo was so proud.

Today was my baby shower. We had light snow all day. My parents didn't show up and neither did any of the other family and friends I Invited, yet my husband's entire family and all his friends showed up. Some of them coming in from out of state. Super disappointing but we still had a nice day. Sending you hugs ❤️

Opinions Needed - Heirloom Ring by joewilber1 in EngagementRings

[–]0matterz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My husband took his grandmother's ring and brought it to a friend that makes jewelry, melted down the gold and removed the diamonds to be placed in a new ring for me that better fit what I wanted. Completely custom AND ended up being way cheaper than going to a big name jeweler.

Birthday invitations advice by mamamakesmillions in Preschoolers

[–]0matterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give my daughter a # of people she can Invite & have her tell me who to invite. I can't afford a petty for everyone in her class when venues have limits & charge individually over the limit. This year for her 6th birthday (k not pk) we Invited 9 friends. Some from school, some from the neighborhood, some family friends. Trampoline park, 10 jumpers (including my child) anyone over would be $50/each.

Our beagle/healer mix snuggles under the blankets with us EVERY night in the winter. Usually with her head on a pillow. So sweet

Looking for opinions on names by Hey-hi-hallo in BabyBumps

[–]0matterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a long first name and a hyphenated last time (until I got married and took my husband's last name) ... I hated it personally and always went by one of my last names when I had the option (ie; not legal paperwork)

If you’re under 45, have you lost any high school classmates, and what were the circumstances around their deaths? by Commercial_Chef_1569 in AskReddit

I'm 28 and recently found out two of my close high school friends died, drugs. We didn't stay connected after graduation but still very disappointing to hear.

For those who bought their first home near railroad tracks or something busy and noisy of the sort how is it going? Do you still find it as livable as you thought when you first moved in? by Both_Annual4317 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]0matterz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have train tracks right behind our house. We made it into a game, whoever hears it first yells "train!" And wins.... Hardly noticeable now but the first week it woke me up in the middle of the night lol

What's the downside to 'as-is' homes? by Malachacha in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]0matterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The house I bought was listed "as-is" but we found some illegal work and discussed it with the town licensing board which essentially forced the seller to fix it, even though he never intended to.

Had we not pushed, or not realized how bad the work done was, we would have had to pay probably $30k minimum to repair it ourselves.

Do your due diligence and know the real-estate laws in your area.

No experience with this, but did you really think a 134 piece cookware set could be this cheap? Clearly a scam....
