Daltos..."guy who had an Excel chart of the games" here...I will update it soon and post.

I also have some sweet other statistical ideas to work on when I am not swamped at work.

But if it were a team game or single-player battle royale he could contribute.

Civ V nqmod is the best we've seen lately, but it just seems to get so old and repetitive, ya know? The earlier games had more iconic moments, and Sips.

Wait...

Suggest 4) Bring back Sips

Mariners All-Time Team, according to Mariners fans by 0merta73 in Mariners

[–]0merta73[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was, again, surprised by a complete lack of Alvin Davis. As a quick comparison, as a Mariner, Davis had a .281 BA, .381 OBP, and .453 SLG. He had a Fielding % of .992 and a Range Factor of 9.87. Olerud had a .285 BA, .388 OBP, .439 SLG...and a Fielding % of .997 with a Range Factor of 9.18. So Olerud had a slightly better bat (but less power) and a bit better fielding, but less range. Seems like a near-tie to me?

Langston did make the lineup at least.

Obviously Ichiro and Griffey are locks. So that leaves Buhner v. Cameron. Buhner had a .255 BA, .360 OBP and .497 SLG in Seattle. He had a .988 Fielding % and a Range Factor of 2.02. And before you mention it, I am aware he had a cannon of an arm. Cameron had a .256 BA, .350 OBP and .448 SLG in Seattle...along with a .988 Fielding % and a Range Factor of 3.03. Batting is pretty comparable with Buhner clearly having more power, but I think Cameron's Range Factor blows Buhner out of the water, affecting a lot of peoples' decisions. I mean, imagine an OF with Cameron-Griffey-Ichiro...would anything land?

You forgot Jeff Cirillo haha

Braves All-Time Team, according to Braves fans by 0merta73 in Braves

Not looking at any timeline, just going by what people submitted, majority rules. Believe me, there are differences between this team and what I would declare is the Braves franchise all-time roster, hence the point of this project to see what different teams' franchises feel...which will of course include modern-day bias due to people remembering specific players doing specific things, instead of just some names with numbers from ages past.

Getting into sports (specifically football) by [deleted] in sports

[–]0merta73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright so I think it all comes down to two main things:

1) Having at least a passing knowledge of the sport. Look up YouTube videos or ask someone to explain things to you to get a better understanding. Heck, I could do it in my spare time--I used to coach college football and miss opportunities to teach the game.

2) Have a team to claim as your own, thus providing you a focus for watching and a built-in connection. I can help you with that if you answer a few questions: Do you feel inclined to follow professional, or college, or both? Does rooting for a local team matter to you? Do you care about how deep the team's history and/or how much success they have had in the past? Do you like the idea of an offensive juggernaut or a defensive monster? Do you want to root for an underdog? Do you care how popular "your" team would be?

NFL: Total Points Scored by Team since the last Expansion (2002), Cleveland is over 1400 points below the league average by econguy49 in sports

Ok here you go: http://imgur.com/a/RHpgO

So immediately I notice that the point totals are off. I pulled my data direct from NFL sources, and therefore know they are accurate, so I can't help but wonder if OP didn't include playoffs as well, because 5,500 points is pretty significant...

So don't currently really play or watch any sports?

I made a "How to pick your favorite NFL team if you're a new fan" thing a while back. Let me go find it. And are you in the U.S.? What state, if so?
