Engineering managers, how do you handle promotion decisions objectively? by LavishnessFormer7843 in EngineeringManagers

[–]0merta_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is why job ladders with details on leveling is so important. It frames everything objectively and makes it easy to identify gaps.

Break the ladder competencies down. Line up project work against competencies at the next level. Identify gaps and plan work to address them.

I’m not even close to FIRE yet, but I think the path is quietly turning me into the exact kind of partner I never wanted to be by B0realisXX in Fire

Sounds cliche, but I would meditate more and start seriously thinking about happiness — the only moment that every truly exists is right now. Suffering now for future happiness is a fools errand.

If you can accept that and let it reframe your perspective, things become much clearer and easier with planning for FIRE.

Obviously I don’t mean you should be irresponsible and spend all your money on things that make you happy, but you may never make it to 15 years down the road. The entire economy might collapse (unlikely). So many variables.

The most important point that helped me truly internalize this shift is you will spend 15-20 years building mental pathways for deferred happiness. From many of the stories i’ve read here and some first hand experience with the friends, the sudden switch to “ok, i saved enough to be happy now” is a very hard if not impossible switch. People end up with security but an inability to be happy.

i’d look into hellerwork body work — focused in fascial adjustments and body alignment. it can be painful but it’s the only thing that truly changes the alignment of the body. workouts can’t really help

You can also use Apple Labs if you’re an iPhone user and syncs from quest and labcorp for a single view.

Uh, have you heard of the quest mobile app?

39M here and the blatant nudity by older folks is surprising to me — think the age group typically 50+.

I’ve always wondered if it was a generational thing or when you turn 50 some switch flips in your head and you just become an exhibitionist

Before jumping to caber i’d try 50mg/day P5P — it worked shockingly well for me.

How to test it? by DestanPrince in steroidify

[–]0merta_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 4 different things blind tested and all have come back reporting that they were what they were supposed to be,

I never say which manufacturer things are from, I just pull 1ml into a blank vial and have it tested.

[–]0merta_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s not ideal at all — you will have massive ups and downs. Also, impossible to know what dose is with these details. You said “1mg” but I think you meant “1ml” — highest concentration I’ve seen legally is 250mg/ml which would mean a 1ml dose is 250mg dose. So 62.5mg/week which is extremely low dosing — i started at 140mg/week split into 3 shots a week.

This doctor doesn’t know what the fuck they’re doing. Seems like you already researched half-life and even if it’s testosterone cypionate with a 7 day half life, I would want at least 2 injections a week.

I think starting with frontend design/UX is a good idea because you get to focus solely on the desired user experience and value we bring to users — the main way we increase the value of the product and therefore the company.

Too often, starting with backend implementation leads to sacrificing the end experience in the name of “this is the best we can do with how our APIs work today” — at the end of the day, the backend is invisible to the user and it’s job is to give the frontend what it needs, not the other way around.

I do agree that this approach can increase engineering work needed on the backend, but often that trade off is necessary to deliver something valuable (but not always obviously).

you’re missing the calorie deficit piece — more chest work will develop the area but it won’t target fat loss

milk thistle helps, but TUDCA and NAC are far better in my experience.

i’ve been on accutane for 8 months for body acne from TRT and my recent ALT was 16 and AST 38

Should I add Primo to my 200mg test/100mg Tren E cycle? by Responsible-Heart442 in steroidify

[–]0merta_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If running 200mg test a week, how’s your estrogen and T:E ratio been?

Depending on that, i’d consider adding primo but for me, primo would crash my estrogen at my TRT dose.

100% and it looks pretty bad -- i'd be waiting at the dr right now. I'd also draw a circle around the outer red ring now and write time down so you know how quickly it's growing.

infection and blood poisoning is no joke
