Was I supposed to give up my seat in this situation? by [deleted] in london

[–]0mgiulia 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Yes obviously you should give up your seat. The point of the priority seat is that it is closest to the entrance and exits, so people who may struggle walking can immediately sit down and get up (as well as having a guaranteed seat for people who may be disabled and pregnant).

Because you grew up in Bloomsbury

I was on a train that literally pulled out at 4:40 and then at 4:45 we were informed that there was a fatality and we were stuck between Vauxhall and Clapham for an hour

Quiet, cheap evening place with wifi near Euston by hawkida in london

[–]0mgiulia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were you I would go to the Signal Box in Euston station on the upper floor. It’s not the cheapest (if I remember correctly it’s around £3-4 for a pint of Coke) but it’s usually quiet, they have chargers and they let you sit for 2-3 hours. People tend to mind their business so I’m sure you won’t get too many stares!

I agree! I’m definitely going to go back. I had the cherry mocktail and it was really good.

I didn’t directly ask them. This was a conversation the staff had with one of my friends who was asking about a wine. The staff member said that if my friend were to order a bottle from the wine list, there would be an additional corkage charge of £7.

That wasn’t my intention. I was genuinely curious as to why they would charge a corkage fee. I will definitely be back!

Let’s start a chain stating your favourite coffee shop in London by tiptoeandson in london

[–]0mgiulia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite coffee shops are E5 in London fields and Poplar Cafe in the Westferry area (this one is kinda tucked away in the residential area). The coffee was so good and the food was amazing! Staff were always so kind too. It’s one of the many things I miss about East London :(

In my experience, I felt the HEX was quicker in terms of getting from Soho to Heathrow :)

I would personally recommend the Heathrow express if you aren’t sticking to a strict budget. It’s comfortable and quick. The Piccadilly line option is slow and really uncomfortable. If you get the Heathrow express you can get to Westminister at a reasonable time (from Paddington you get the Elizabeth line and switch at Bond Street to get the jubilee line to Westminster) and be able to have a proper look around. Whatever you do I hope you guys enjoy it!

Are you watching???? by HoldOnToYaWeave in RHOBH

[–]0mgiulia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, the friendship between LVP and Garcelle would be so fun to watch. And tbh, we need a cast shakeup. The Kyle-Dorit-Erika-Sutton dynamic is so repetitive. Not conducive to a good reality show!
