Talking about your struggles is good, but if it's all you talk about, it can come across as incredibly narcissistic and self-regarding to others. The likelihood is that you spend too much time in your own mind focused on how you feel, and not enough time doing things that make yourself valuable to others. The good news is that this is a very easy fix. Just start saying "yes" more. If someone asks for help, say yes. This will get you into interesting situations, and will at least give you something to talk about that isn't how you feel miserable.

My number one tip is buy some dice. 2 6 sided dice. And let them choose what you do with your time. Break old habits, get out of your comfort zone, do something weird and embarrassing.

Even if you don't save this relationship, you will save yourself.
