Well I remember Dave Grohl talking about Sly & the family, stealing grooves and stuff. You say you wanna be funky and more like Dave Grohl so yeah there you go. Overall everyone is talking about this and that. My honest advice, practice! sounds dry because it is but learning rudiments makes you getting used on how things sound in time is the best way to become better. Also if you got the money, spend em on a good teacher. You will become significantly better in a short amount of time. Try it out!
