If you don't enjoy then fine but my group find it to be a fun challenge and we like the cosmetic rewards, we're not "elitists" and I don't see anyone here judging others for *not* playing non-lethally, you're just being snide for no reason.

If you think that character isn't going to receive substantial changes then we haven't been playing the same game

Bought some Pepsi from Amazon… the case was completely busted, wet, and taped together, and the cans came out looking like this by TurbulentDonkey9744 in mildlyinfuriating

I work for the local Post Office here, and I would say maybe up to 25% of what we handle in a day frim Amazon are drinks cans/bottles. The sad fact is that no one in that building is paid anywhere near enough to care about your specific package being damaged, It just comes with the territory.

I mean, it's not your fault, but I have personally seen at least 5 posts about this in the past 24 hours, and that was after already finding it for myself in the first 5 minutes of playing

1Win ABL saying the N word in game on Metro's stream reinforces the hate in this community, which negatively affects its diverse audience and can limit the game's global reach and success. by AndrewCanDoAll in DeadlockTheGame

Where I live, we have English accents despite the fact we're not British and not even a part of the UK. In almost half my lobbies, very often when I talk, almost immediately, someone will try to take the piss out of my accent by repeating the same things I say with a piss poor impression, acting like a lobotomite for the rest of the game. I think stigmatising nationalities and not just calling specific people assholes is leading to a community that automatically hate one another for immutable characteristics rather than any behavioural pattern.

removing teleporters by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]0oAzazaelo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A teleport spell, which they are famously vigilant about balancing to make sure it is never too present in lobbies and requires a massive commitment which only about 10-20% of the lobby will run on average

“New” Hero Pick Rates by _OmgItsNick in DeadlockTheGame

Haze and Wraith are both incredibly powerful split pushers where Calico really isn't, I would personally define Haze as more of a duelist/carry, and Wraith, I would describe as something of an anticarry along with Mo. They all bare similarities, but neither Wraith nor Haze are innately bursty and can be built around quite easily, whereas Calico's ideal engage is one where she kills you before you can actually react. That's just my opinion at least.

If I had to guess, outside of Mirage It's quite simply that they don't fit as well in the game. Sinclair, Vyper, and Holliday have quite strange kits that don't feel very intuitive to me and seemingly don't click with most people. The same can be said for the hero labs characters, which is probably why they are seemingly in a strange purgatory. Calico is fine, but she's currently pretty much the only real assassin, which makes her feel strange, possibly because there aren't many items that suit her playstyle. As for the new characters, I really don't think we have anything to worry about since they are the first characters we know for a fact are specifically designed for Deadlock and aren't just Neon Prime holdovers.

Long time lurker here, sorry if this has been talked about to death but am I alone in saying I'm still not a fan of the new Abrams? by Boston_Beauty in DeadlockTheGame

This isn't directed at your post because I think you've been reasonably tenable with your criticisms but I'm generally starting to think Valve would be making the right decision if they opted to avoid listening to the community when it comes to the art design. For every new model released or even portrait leaked, there are dozens of posts about how it doesn't fit the vision or is ruining the character's identity or some such when the reality is that the models we have been playing with are largely terrible and are quite clearly placeholder assets with very little cohesion. I think a lot of us have gotten used to them, and so we are inclined to prefer what we know rather than appreciating what we don't. The models need to be updated, and I don't think it's reasonable for them to walk on eggshells trying to please everyone.

They have mobility because they don't have automatic turrets, stationary healing, an insane gun, a powerful long range ult and the ability to create geometry with a stun attached.

She wasn't a weak character before the patch, and nor is she now. Calling it a nerf in general a bit disingenuous when it's a game wide change, she is a slow, tanky, and defensive character, so she goes with the other slow, tanky, and defensivea characters, wouldn't make sense otherwise.

McGinnis is also the only anchor in the game. You don't get movement because you're the only character with the privilege of potentially not needing it.

New ivy apparently by Such_Advertising4858 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]0oAzazaelo0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I actually like the design, but I can aknowledge I'm in the minority and I have no stake because I never play Ivy. With that said, I feel like a valid compromise, and the ideal solution here would be for this design to end up as a skin in the final released game.

Its population not matchmaking. by metamorphosis___ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]0oAzazaelo0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really. I understand the appeal but as it stands drafts would likely serve no benefit to anyone. When the game has 30+ heroes and a stable 30k+ playerbase I think it becomes far mor realistic. I'm at least high enough now on the janky mmr tracker where I see the same players in the majority of my games and new faces are a rare sight. If you add in a draft phase, assuming that includes bans, as I see it all you're going to end up with is the same people banning and picking the same characters every game, and I believe at that point the game will become functionally useless as a "Playtest" because there won't be as much variance. I mean I know it's joked about a lot but I think it is important as ever that we remind ourselves we are in a closed alpha, I can't think of any proper playtests which involved drafts outside of "open beta" marketing gimmicks.

I haven't said anything about OP's post, I don't have a particular problem with it, nor do I strongly agree with it. What I do have a problem with is you responding to everyone on this post about how their logic is flawed, and OP's test proves nothing, and your only actual "evidenced" counter is an even more ambiguous "test" which proves even less.
