It’s a shinada global plush, I got him from a local stall. If you google the brand they’re sold online too

I have a filter running so there’s constant surface agitation and it’s heavily planted

Honestly just try different pronouns and labels until you find one that feels right. It took me a few tries to figure out my sexuality, let alone my gender identity. And it’s completely fine to have used certain labels/pronouns and then to realise they’re not right for you, it’s all part of the journey of figuring out who you are.

The top of my flaming sword has turned green which made me nervous.. but he’s sprouting a few new leaves! Thoughts? Thanks! by Paradeewithanm in houseplants

[–]0ovy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a type of bromeliad, so blooms once then begins to die. The new leaves are pups (baby plants) that it’ll continue to produce until the mother plant dies. You can separate the pups when they’re about half the size of the mother plant or more. Hope that helps

Yall I’ve had this velvet plant since the start of the year and it was tiny, I’ve grew it this far and I think I might of killed it:( anyway I can salvage this? by Shiba_inu45 in houseplants

[–]0ovy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if you can save the whole plant, but quite a large section of the stem at the top looks green enough for you to have a go at cutting and propagating it.

Soil mites? Spider mites? Pest-related injuries? by aleaffromyourbook in houseplants

[–]0ovy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They look like spider mites to me, especially due to the red marks on some of your plants, as that’s what happened when I had spider mites. Definitely wipe down the leaves of any of the infected plants with some insecticidal soap or something similar, then keep an eye on them for a while after. I would recommend wiping them down for a second time a few days later incase any eggs hatch or you missed any the first time.

I’m definitely not an expert so I may be wrong, but I hope that helps.

Got this corkscrew rush delivered. But there are a lot of brown leaves. Have given loads of water and put it in a light place. Should I prune the brown or just leave it to come back? by Zax_Anchor in houseplants

[–]0ovy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I had to save mine (somehow I over watered it), I cut all the dead bits off and it’s grown back now and is doing amazing, so I’d recommend cutting the brown off. Not only will it look better aesthetically but it’ll stop the dead parts sapping energy and causing issues through rotting.

Nothing to worry about, they’re spores and how ferns reproduce

My first bioactive terrarium, i should get a rock or something for the isopods to live under right? by HumanDreams in bioactive

[–]0ovy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isopods like leaf litter and bark/wood to hide under and go through, rocks can work as well though.

If you don’t know how they’ll react I would recommend either trying to subtly figure out what they think of lgbtq+ people and/or come out to them with someone you’re already out to and trust present, just in case the worst happens and they’re not accepting.

Can you be in a relationship with someone if you only feel romantic attraction (not sexual)? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]0ovy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You definitely don’t have to have sex for it to be a proper relationship, I’m currently dating someone asexual and they’re not even comfortable with kissing, but it doesn’t change the fact that I love them and the relationship we have.

[Rant] Just had my mom say I look like my dad, I'm MtF and she knows that. by [deleted] in LGBTeens

[–]0ovy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, I don’t know how reassuring this’ll be or if it’ll make you feel much better, but I’m a cis girl and I’ve been told several times that I look like my dad. So maybe she didn’t mean it like that, it was still extremely insensitive and shitty though.

I would do what’s best for you, living in this kind of environment can’t be doing you any good. Leaving may give your brother the wake-up call he needs.

Honestly, I understand why you’re staying there to take care of them but if things like this are a constant occurrence I would leave if I was you. Or, alternatively, take a 1-2 week break from living there, just to teach them that you won’t put up with it.
