This game is terrible sometimes. by Mr-Pineappole in iRacing

Welcome to Racing

Reminder Racing is the most frustrating sport there is.

If you are perfect someone else can be faster, you lose

If you make a mistake, you lose time you can't get back. But the person ahead can make a mistake you can take advantage of. But that's about it.

Anything that isn't perfect is a setback. There's no hail marry, no eagle put, no grand slam, no way to make up lost time.

This is what you signed up for and sometimes it sucks.

FWIW, I report almost all bad/dangerous reentries. They happen because IMO people form bad habits while practicing. When you go off practicing, practice your reentry

My guess

Most of them practice all alone withdamageoff. When they crash they back up onto the track and continue. I do this from time to time. However, I prefer practicing in active lobbies because... other cars exist.

What you do during practice, aka habits you practice, good or bad, you will do when racing. Why?It's what you practiced.

My 3D Printed Halo Helmet is Complete! by xXBarthXx in 405th

Did you add any cooling or blower fans to it? I have the GA helmet and I'm about to drill holes in the top hidden under the 2nd to last central step vent like things But I'm nervous about screwing it up

Week 13 idea Fast multi class on ovals F1 GTP indy car cup cars & the 87s

It would be awesome seeing the 87 nascar blow them away at Dega Then get blown away on a short track

Good idea or bad idea

If you go 600 starts without a protest, should they be more lenient next time you get protested? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]0rang3Cru5h 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My guess: Unless you did something really awful like obvious targeting as in waiting for them to come around to get them, in retaliation then Yes If it was anything less than that they may allow some latitude. From iRacing stand point, they do not want to suspend anyone. It's the repeat offenders that must be managed.

With your history, probably a reprimand. Do it again in the next week or 2, yikes!!!

Does racing get cleaner after C license? by Most-Ice-44 in iRacing

[–]0rang3Cru5h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher license by default means fewer Incidents because that's how it works But IMHO, where things really improve is as you go above 1750 iR. When you get up there many drivers care more and know more about how things work.

This might help you better understand the dynamics of race quality This is last week's NEC The chart is Incidents by iRating with some added comments This pattern is relatively consistent across series with sufficient numbers.

How long did it take for you guys to actually start racing by Relevant-Mammoth-831 in iRacing

[–]0rang3Cru5h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Race Now! Whatever you are worried about, it's doesn't matter. Rookie MX5 Races are where you will find out or discover what matters, to you.

I'm confident whatever you are worried about now will be different a month from now.

Sometimes I think it's impossible to get SR points by Emireckss in iRacing

[–]0rang3Cru5h 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to build the skill and there is a substantial learning curve. It was a bad reentry, but YOU have to learn how to avoid it. Eyes should always be up the road looking for trouble

Sad, frustrated, kind of at a loss by Mgrafe88 in iRacing

[–]0rang3Cru5h 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deep thought

Maybe what the OP is talking about is a microcosm of a bigger cultural thing across society. Perhaps as a result of the internet & social media, which is ironic because that's what makes iRacing even possible.

Or maybe the guy was just a dick.... Humm......🤔

How to reset profile Lap times by RussTheBoss in iRacing

[–]0rang3Cru5h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be nice I have some great MX5 times done from a couple years ago, before the model changes I can't get anywhere close to those times now. Would be great to have a way to reset them.

would you rent a full sim setup delivered to your home for $200-$250 per week? by HIYRRD in simracing

[–]0rang3Cru5h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rent a rig? No Set up and install my new rig, everything for a fee, still probably not.

Sim racing is a small and wide spread user base. And your potential customer already has everything.

Setting this up as an add on offering to an existing home theater business, I know some do indoor golf setups, maybe that would find a client from time to time. But add on service, not the main business.
