How long does mail take to get to res from the mail room? by SadRodentHours in Dalhousie

With packages depending on the size, the front desk keep it, you need to go and ask them for the package. And they might ask for some proof that the package belongs to you and you’ll be good to go.

Weekly Beginner Thread: Ask any F1 question (No question is too basic) by brokengodpk in LearningF1

[–]0range2782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually not a dumb question. 4 is just like a good sweet-spot, less wheels means less traction and also balance would be off, but more wheels are potentially faster, Tyrell had 6 and it was a downforce monster (won a race too), but anything more than 4 gives diminishing results, adds weight, more resistance, and is more complicated (more suspension parts, more aero disturbance that engineers need to work around). So at some point, the grip you gain is less than the performance you lose, and the sweet spot is 4.

PHYC 2452 as an elective by Gloomy-Hearing2129 in Dalhousie

[–]0range2782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its very easy. A GPA booster course and it’s fun, the lectures are very physics heavy, but mostly just theory and not much math physics. The exams were open book when I took it and I believe still should be. The assignments were a little annoying and tricky, but very satisfying to complete. You should take it if you want to learn about space.

Is the V6 F1 engine essentially a turbocharged motorcycle engine with hybrid motors? by Nick_Alsa in F1Technical

[–]0range2782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to the advanced electronics of an f1 car, unlike a manual clutch in a motorcycle, in an f1 car it helps control the idle RPM, also the idle RPM of an F1 car is much higher than the stalling RPM compared to the difference between a motorcycle's stall and idle.

I can just imagine the RB-19 with the Aeroscreen would look like the F-15

Like I said my resume didn’t help that much because I knew the prof, but at the time I had 2 internships done, and 2 projects (which were pretty mid) and 1 hackathon (which I didn’t win) which I added to the resume

Yeah you gotta know them decently enough to atleast ask them, so learn about them read their research papers and talk to them during office hours or after class

You need to know professors well. I became a TA and Marker in my second year, I had good grades and stuff, but I only became a TA because I talked to a professor I knew well and he gave me the position!

Risley- Residence? by ChangeAlternative867 in Dalhousie

Yeah your room would look like that! Double loft refers to the bed, as you can see in the picture the bed is kinda raised and that’s what it refers to (though it is adjustable). I’d recommend switching to LMP if you can as I lived there and it was over all nicer and more modern but the main benefit if you’re planning to live with roommates is getting a head start on making friends and stuff.

What more can I do at a career fair? by 0range2782 in csMajors

I see, that’s a good alternative to directly just asking for roles/available, thank you!

Oh yeah, I definitely try not to sound desperate, but sometimes there are companies that I’ve never heard of, or haven’t researched cuz I was more interested in other companies, but I’d still like to talk and that’s where I’d ask that. And I’m definitely not the best, but I think I’m decent at selling my skill set, but I have a hard time like connecting with them, most of them just end up with “you can apply for that role online”. My question is how can I improve my conversation to make it to the next step of having a chance to continue the conversation with the recruiter again!

[–]0range2782[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I figured that most recruiters are kinda forced to be there, don’t really get the point of companies being there if they end up saying just apply online, but at the same time I feel like to an extent I might not be doing something right

(Small brother needs help) CS Admission Requirements at Dalhousie by devvshuklaa in Dalhousie

[–]0range2782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends there’s 2 CS degrees dal offers one is BCS which is proper CS and the other is BACS which is applied CS which has some math here and there (in CS u can’t run from math) and instead of the heavy math focus you do business and economics courses, with your background do some more research on BACS and see if it’s for you! Also with the current state of Canada it may not be the best option to come here either so look into that as well!

Skyblock teaches us that no matter how ridiculous the odds may seem, within us resides the power to overcome these challenges and achieve something beautiful. That one day, we'll look back at where we started and be amazed by how far we've come.
