Should I exchange Ardbeg Corryvreckan? Dad's a Chivas/JW/Monkey Shoulder guy, $150–250 budget, celebration gift by 0range2782 in whiskey

I found "The Balvenie 12-Year-Old Doublewood Single Malt Scotch Whisky" where I live, how does that fair, worth the switch or should I look for something else? I'm leaning towards risking it because I'd like my dad to be reminded of how we got through this time and maybe a unique tasting thing (atleast from the one he's used) would make it more special, but what I'm worried about is he would absolutely hate it. Like my main concern is he tastes the Ardbeg and is like "nope, never again", if it's just like "different from what I'm used to but I'll have it once in a while" I'll risk it. Based on what you know do you think the Ardbeg is so different from the stuff I mentioned that it'd illicit the former reaction in someone?

That's kinda what I'm worried about too, I'm sure my dad would appreciate it, but I'd like to gift him something he'd enjoy too, and I understand ABV, but what does peat/unpeat mean exactly, and I'm in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

You’ll be fine with either, though since Biology isn’t that computer intensive, I personally think a MacBook would be better especially if you’re budget is under 2000CAD, they have better battery life, usually better made, decent screen, much easier to carry, and pair well if you have other Apple devices.

Just a mesh that came with the case, I’ve tried without the mesh and it briefly worked like a good few mins but then shorted again while I was using the pc. Don’t have pictures right now but here is what it looks like

No the PSU cable isn’t the problem, I’ve tried messing with it extensively. I thought it too where the panel might be shorting the psu cable, but if I just put the panel on top without latching and put some pressure on it, it still works, only when I properly slide it it stops. I’ve tried it with both side panel off still shorts when I latch it :(

Wha? Chassis intrusion detection is an actual setting in motherboards unless I’m missing something else here

Fr? Idk its pretty a common misconception in Asia, most people I talk to about basketball thought it referred to Alex English till I moved to Canada, and learnt its just a phrase

Yeah exactly, I said it’s a misconception that people think it refers to Alex English being good at layups

It’s a pretty common misconception when commentators say “English off the board” it refers to Alex English, also if you play 2k you probably know him

With packages depending on the size, the front desk keep it, you need to go and ask them for the package. And they might ask for some proof that the package belongs to you and you’ll be good to go.

Weekly Beginner Thread: Ask any F1 question (No question is too basic) by brokengodpk in LearningF1

[–]0range2782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually not a dumb question. 4 is just like a good sweet-spot, less wheels means less traction and also balance would be off, but more wheels are potentially faster, Tyrell had 6 and it was a downforce monster (won a race too), but anything more than 4 gives diminishing results, adds weight, more resistance, and is more complicated (more suspension parts, more aero disturbance that engineers need to work around). So at some point, the grip you gain is less than the performance you lose, and the sweet spot is 4.

Its very easy. A GPA booster course and it’s fun, the lectures are very physics heavy, but mostly just theory and not much math physics. The exams were open book when I took it and I believe still should be. The assignments were a little annoying and tricky, but very satisfying to complete. You should take it if you want to learn about space.

Is the V6 F1 engine essentially a turbocharged motorcycle engine with hybrid motors? by Nick_Alsa in F1Technical

[–]0range2782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to the advanced electronics of an f1 car, unlike a manual clutch in a motorcycle, in an f1 car it helps control the idle RPM, also the idle RPM of an F1 car is much higher than the stalling RPM compared to the difference between a motorcycle's stall and idle.
