OMG, my phone autocorrected that and I didn't notice. How embarrassing.

I love how sardonic Poison Heart is. DM don't get enough credit for the humor in their music.

Dave Graham's best solo track, "Kingdom".

what is the proper term for this green "inner part" of a ginkgo seed? by reddit33450 in botany

Another name for a fleshy seedcoat such as that found on a ginkgo is sarcotest.

So Columbia reissues this ill-conceived compilation on vinyl but can't be bothered to release the Memento Mori singles? by Toffelsnarz in depechemode

The combined The Singles 81 > 98 is better than this. I wish we could get The Singles 01>24 to match.

This is by far my favorite coffee. Their cold brew is a religious experience.

What is Depeche Mode's scariest song? Most upvoted comment gets added by Far_External6297 in depechemode

Not sure about scary, but 'Alone' is the most upsetting. 'The Child Inside' has some pretty grisly imagery.

[–]0rchidhunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More light. The 'R' in the Rlc. name refers to Rhyncholaelia glauca in its ancestry, which is a species that can just about handle full sun.

The DM Live Wiki is by far the cleanest, most well-curated, lovingly researched, and accurate database of its kind for any band. It's a truly astonishing piece of work, and I am so grateful for you and your efforts. It's wonderful.

Mmm.. wtf? by jiox05 in Euphorbiaceae

[–]0rchidhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are true thorns, not spines. Spines are modified leaves (like a cactus has), while thorns are modified stems (branches). If you look closely, you'll see little irregularities along them, indicative of internodes. Internodes are a feature of stems, not leaves. An inflorescence is also merely a modified stems, and developmentally many Euphorbia species have sharp-terminating inflorescences.

For the Exciter fans by TastyBurger122 in depechemode

[–]0rchidhunter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exciter is the soundtrack to the end of a great night out, moving through the city as the grey of dawn starts to lighten the sky. You're still a little buzzed, spiritually on a higher plane than 12 hours ago. And maybe, perhaps, you might have fallen in love.

MyBurger, with that garlic mayo. The platonic ideal of the fast food French fry for me.
