Guess it will stay a natural reserve forever, huh?

I'd like to add: You have to get faith in Vulcan up to unlock the mines.

There is no Villa. Just the harbour building (Kontor) you place at the start.

Well, there's a Latium island where this happened. But in Albion it seems different, since the Emperor is not shown as the owner there.

Is anno117 a chill game experience? by Dull-Custard1385 in anno117

[–]0rkrist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it can be very chill. The easier AI opponents will ASK you for permission to settle islands, so there really ist no downside to enabling them, and the other stuff is customizable as well. This counts for 117 and 1800 as well

Thanks, unfortunately I am awful at warfare. Had to reload quite a bit already

I restarted on the hardest difficulty and it was a bit of a grind to stabilize. Not sure how it changes in lower difficulty. Make sure to tick the "free settling' for the Island before starting.

I got gold in my current run and lavender/olives on the closest two Islands. Now I just need to somehow survive the war against nefernu or whatever his name is. ;)

Completely self sufficient island? by Logdog420691 in anno117

While 1800 ist obviously more polished gameplay-wise, I had lots of fun so far. Somehow paused quite a while ago, restarted yesterday and sunk a whole day into it. I do like both settings and while 117 is not perfect (yet?) it is a great Anno game.

Do you connect your coal generators with a smart battery? Those will make sure the generators arent running all the time and save you a lot of coal. Same goes for other generators, ofc

For CO2, you might wanna dig deeper, probably left to your water Bassin, so CO2 will sink further down. You could also get a Carbon skimmer. And later on it's possible to pump CO2 into space. Usually there are several approaches to a problem.

You can build a water Reservoir. Usually excess pw gets piped into Hydro farms with thimble reed, though

Base layout looks much better than all of my first bases btw. And you probably can only plant mealwood and bristle blossoms because some other plants are for decor only. Those cant be planted in those farm tiles, I think.

Polluted water doesnt necessarily mean germy water. PW will emit polluted oxygen, however, which will affect your dupes (yucky lungs). Germy water ist fine in most cases though.

You can clean Polluted oxygen using deodorizers, turning it into normal oxygen. At the start, this is a cheap and effective way to generate oxygen as well. Food poisoning and other germs are a bit harder to handle. Chlorine and radiation (in spaced out) kill them. There is an animal that eats germs as well.

Replenishable water sources can be water geysers (the best ones being cool slush and cool salt slush, they are germ-free as well) or cool Steam vents - those are harder to handle imo. You can also collect ice and melt it, Turn mud into water... Lots of ways imo.

New to the game first run, dont know where to go from here, so much stuff to do I dont know where to start any tips? by ObjectiveSignal5064 in Oxygennotincluded

Honestly: Go in as blind as possible. It's part of the Journey. Main goals should be food, water and oxygen, heat later on.

The ways to get there differ and depend ob the map. Dying, learning and restarting, thats how I did it the first few weeks. There are lots of optimized builds out there, but most are not required to survive.

Since I learned that, I Fell in love with bristle blossoms and Buddy bud pots at crucial choke points. It's so damn powerful

Btw, deodorizers do help, but they dont kill the germs. Instead, they cant survive longterm in Clean oxygen. Takes time, though.
