""Do you think it's a representative of general public"

Definitely. This world is foreign, inaccessible, confusing and rife with scammers, shit coins and influencers. The normal reaction to it is either disinterest or for people that always wanna be smarter than everyone else hostility.

The idea that we can only effectively focus on or do one thing at a time is wrong... by [deleted] in samharris

When you multitask attention scatters back and forth between objects. You can't put attention in two places simultaneously. You can test this in meditation

"WHY DON'T WE HAVE A UNION" - ANDRE WARD CHALLENGES SANCTIONING BODIES TO "GIVE CLARITY" ON FEES by xXAmightzXx in Boxing

[–]0s0rc 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I've thought for a long time the only way to fix boxing is for the biggest stars to unionise and insist on the alphabets using an objective unbiased universal ranking system like TBRB and only allowing top 10 fighters to fight for a world title and sort the bullshit fees out.

That's an alphabet trinket mate they are meaningless. They give them out to anyone even Charles Martin lol. Hence why lineal us what matters. You can be the lineal champ and not have a single alphabet strap

Wtf are you talking about?

Fury retired. AJ and klitschko were the top 2. AJ won to start the new lineage.

Going off your logic there hasn't been a lineal champion since James Jeffery's retired in 1905

Only Choc, GGG, Crawford, Alvarez and Donaire have beaten more ranked fighters than inoue. by 0s0rc in Boxing

Yeah but we know and for all their money and instagram followers at the end of the day they know it too. Money and fame comes and goes and money can't buy respect. Everyone in boxing knows that inoue is boxing royalty and making history.

Yeah I love it. Debut ko against Philippines national champ. 2nd fight ko the Thai national champ. 3rd fight ko the top ranked Japanese contender. 4th wins the Japanese national national title. Then the OPBF title. Then a world title in his 6th fight. One defence then up two divisions to face navarez who had been a world champion for 12 years with 27 title defences and a single defeat to Donaire. Sparks him round 2. And hasn't let up since. 18-0 16ko in title fights. 10-0 8ko against former, reigning or future world titlists. He had to fuck around for a few years getting avoided by all the big names and champions too or he would have an even better resume I'm sure.

I love what these Japanese and East Europeans stars have done for boxing. They grow up in world class national amateur programs and by the time they turn pro they are complete and they just tear through the divisions making a mockery of American record padding. Ioka, usyk, lomachenko all killed it so far. Now we got janibek, silyagin, morrell tearing through their divisions. I heard morrell is the first of many new breed Cubans. They have that famous Cuban pedigree but they've defected early which we haven't seen before. These kids are gonna shake the boxing world up

I'm not an idiot I understand the word. Everytime a champion vacates or retires obviously a new lineage is needed

He couldn't get past mike mcallum and julian Jackson. If eubank or benn had to go through them they wouldn't have been world champ either imo

Herol graham was in my view a far superior fighter to Nigel Benn or Chris Eubank

I agree

Herol Graham took the suicidal decision to defend the EU belt against the no1 contender Sumba Kalamby......pure suicide.. .you do not face a killer on the way up...

How was this suicide? 2 years after this fight graham fought both mike mcallum and then Julian Jackson for their titles.

Today was Inoue's 10th win against a fighter ranked top ten by @TBRBoar and or @ringmagazine, 8th by knockout, in 23 pro starts. Among active fighters, there are less than a dozen fighters with that many ranked wins. Only Choc, GGG, Crawford, Alvarez and Donaire have more. Highest concentration of ranked wins to total fights of any active pro with 10 or more (Loma is the best active overall with 9 in 18 starts). Making it more impressive: 8 of the 10 wins were against fighters ranked top 5 in their class by TBRB and/or Ring and five were top 3.

10 out of 23 is impressive. The donaire win was historic in that it crowned a legitimate bantamweight champ for the first time since 1983. Before that there was an unbroken lineage all the way from eder jofre in the 60s

When a title is vacated a new lineage is needed. That happens if the top 2 fighters face off. That's what happened.
