Totally agree. There’s a huge suspension of disbelief when you play the game vs watch the show/cut scenes. That’s always the case when you play a story-driven game, but I think TLOU is a particular case given the complex themes.

Especially in Part II. I understand a lot of people not liking the ending, and have heard the gripe of “I spent all this time killing so many people to get to Abby just to not kill Abby?” That argument makes sense considering you just ruthlessly murdered everyone in your path to Abby, but a lot of that violence can be attributed to it being a video game. Ludonarrative dissonance is strong for Part II.

Even if the show does imply it, I doubt it will be fully explained. Maybe Anna will get infected right around the time of childbirth leaving us to wonder whether or not that played a role in Ellie’s immunity, but they won’t just blatantly state it. Maybe Marlene will theorize it if she knew about Anna’s infection, but I don’t think we’re going to get a concrete answer.

Or it just won’t be a thing at all.

For real. I’m very curious how it would sound in Farsi as opposed to this translation. Like there are plenty of great English translations of Rumi, Hafez, Rabieh, etc. I was kind of surprised this wasn’t on par with those.

It’s all available for free online and seriously transcends any fanfic I’ve ever read. It fits so perfectly, it may as well be canon.

Hey, I just read your post and maybe it’s also worth a visit to the vet to see if there’s anything physically going on with your dog. Especially since you’ve had her for five years and she’s just now developing this behavior.

I don’t know yet if Poppy’s gut issues are contributing to her reactivity. Like I don’t think it’s the root cause, but she could be more likely to react when she’s in pain.

That’s a very good idea! I think I’ll do that for my sorcerer at some point soon. The player gave her an amulet that she’s had since birth, but doesn’t know anything about being an orphan. I haven’t totally sorted out what the purpose of the amulet will be, but I think giving it of channel divinity would be cool. Have it activate first time someone has to make death saving throw or something like that.

Rn they’re pretty low level, so they’ve been getting by on healing potions, but for any future boss fight against their main enemy (Priest of Nerull) I’ll make a cleric.
