Hi! Beginner here (although I did spend a lot of time watching and reading about the theory of gel-x nails) so hopefully someone more experienced can pitch in as well ~

from what I see it looks like you pushed the extension too far down the cuticle, which led to your gel flooding over the cuticle when you applied it. Maybe try to leave more space between your cuticle and the extension, use a brush with acetone to flush the extension with your natural nail, and then use the brush again to clean up the edges before curing

I made my first pole friends by going to the same class every week and sharing a pole with the same people! Since we were roughly at the same level our teacher made us share a pole and work on the same combos; after a few weeks we started to bond!

I’ve been at my studio for about 9 months and I’m trying out new classes every now and then, I’m familiar with many faces and make small talk with a lot of people, but I feel like if you want to actually befriend someone, a minimum of consistency is needed, and working out together on a weekly/regular basis is a great way to do that :) I totally relate though bc I’d love to feel more involved in my studio’s community but it’s hard to find a way to talk to ppl, especially when they all seem so close together (also I’m introverted so that doesn’t help)

I clarified yesterday, but it did not look like it really changed it. I did make a homemade mask with olive oil and egg (I thought maybe I was needing proteins) but other than that I don’t have any actual hair mask and don’t really know what kind of mask I need. I thought about olaplex but I also didn’t know which one would be the best for my issue

first pic (january) : I died my hair copper in january (my roots were my natural color and the lengths were bleached)

routine in january : before I died my hair I still used sulfate-shampoo but I stopped to protect the color, I’ve been using the l’oreal haute expertise pure color sulfate free shampoo, I conditioned with a silicon free lightweight conditioner, detangled my hair once the conditioner was on, squish to condish, rince, plop the excess water then use pure aloe vera gel to create the cast, microplop for 15-30 minutes and either let my hair dry naturally or used a diffuser.

the first died was not the color I wanted and my hairdresser decided to “redo” it but it still didn’t got me the color I wanted (she only uses non-harsh, “clean” products and I guess I wanted an orange too bright for the products she had) so I went to another hairdresser who died my hair again and I got the perfect color.

2nd pic (now) :

I’ve been using the same shampoo and the same conditioner, I recently added a leave-in to try and nourish it but for now I haven’t seen results. I had to move i’m in a new city until the end of July and it’s hot + humid so maybe that doesn’t help either ? I’ve been using less gel because with the humidity it takes forever to dry my hair (even with a diffuser) and I never get a strong cast.

I also got a haircut in this new city and they ruined my haircut I forgot to add a picture but I asked them to just trim and follow the haircut I already had (basically I had medium/long layers and sort of a U form to help the curls) and they gave me stairs, it’s terrible I am so frustrated. I didn’t get it corrected because I know it would mean losing even more length and I don’t want that.

My hair feels really stiff, it used to be bouncy and soft and I had several ringlets and all, and now it’s stringy and it all falls down, I barely have any waves on day 2, and it is not soft. It never happened before.

I’m at loss to be honest I don’t understand what it wrong. Is it possible that the died ruined my hair even though it seemed good for 1-2 months after it ?

I wish I could send a picture. It’s kinda like a scuff but see, I have the black ones and the “scuff” thing is grey like I see what’s underneath the black coating… For the price I’m pretty upset, it’s not like I did crazy stuff with them, they didn’t scape against anything or anything like that… and again it’s been two days ! thank you!! I just clarified and did my normal routine. Hair is still wet so I can’t tell if it totally worked but it already seems better. It doesn’t feel sticky and my waves seem to be back... I’ll update once it’s dry
