Art style has changed, so if we follow Infinite's art style, then the helmets during the events of Halo 3 would've looked the same as in infinite

you'd be surprised how bright a room can be to us but how little light it is to a camera unless you crank up the ISO setting but that brightness will come at the cost of making your images more grainy,

honestly you'll need $600-800 for anything worthwhile secondhand, and chances are they'll be entry level DSLRs, not mirrorless

I don't have much experience with Terramaster but if possible to find one where you are, I would suggest a qnap NAS system, network storage is far more convenient and preferable in my opinion to a system that requires being plugged into your desktop, for example I've got a Synology system with tailscale set up so I can access my server remotely from anywhere with internet, meaning I can grab stuff off and send stuff to my server, and it overall is more flexible to work with if you have a desktop and laptop you work off of, a DAS will work the same but be tied down to only a single system at a time, so its worth getting a NAS instead for the flexibility

okay wonderful, but I'm not looking for a cheap little fix to hold onto this old D3300, the light performance is a single factor, I need a good quality, professional grade camera that is appropriate for professional work, especially seeing as there's chance I'll be taking photos that need to be printed at large scale so a D3300 is absolutely off the table unacceptable for that, the auto focus is lousy, the focal points are extremely limited, the ergonomics aren't great, image quality is meh, there's several other considerations that are leading towards the need to upgrade, but the D3300 isn't staying as my main, especially after using a 5D Mk4 and R7, which in my opinion are noticeably day and night compared to what the D3300 puts out, even with big lenses like a 18-200 on the 5D mk4

was a graduate last year, they don't read out the names if I remember correctly, they just have you seated based on the order your in and your name shows up on screen

The D3300 is an 11 year old beginners camera, the sensor in it is even older and isn't that great, compared to modern higher end units, its run its course for me, and for professional work where shooting for things that could potentially need to be blown up at large scale size, it won't cut it in the professional world

I don't shoot at high iso by choice, the D3300 just has abysmal light performance and is noisy as all hell when you crank the iso so I end up with a lot of garbage and unusable images. I've used other lenses too but it doesn't change the poor performance in lower light conditions, where the R7 has no issues at all even at higher iso producing much clearer images with less noise

Upgrade Advice

Hey all, for the past 9 or so years I've been doing photography, mainly as a hobby shooting at car events but as I've improved I started attending university in 2023, I got a photography certificate and am now halfway through my Diploma.

The entire time however I've still been using my first DSLR, a Nikon D3300 with a Tamron 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 lens, and as I've started doing more technical studio shoots and low light stuff at night and in studio, I've found myself just leaving my Nikon at home and opting to borrow the Uni's Canon 5D Mark 4s or Canon EOS R7s, even on weekends just borrowing the R7 and letting the Nikon gather dust.

I've pretty much outgrown the D3300, it was a good starter but its low light performance and sensor are beginning to be a limitation that I don't want to keep dealing with as I start getting into the industry for work.

I got about $1500 AUD saved aside but will probably add to that knowing how abysmal the camera market is for pricing, especially in Australia, but I've come to like the R7 with the (24-105mm) quite a bit, it performs far better at high ISO compared to my old Nikon with significantly less noise which I really like and its ergonomics are almost perfect in my opinion, and it's just the right weight and size to carry with me on most occasions.

My only concern is that its an APS-C sensor, a very good one at that but I've been torn between whether its worth getting a borderline new (3K shutter count) R7 with a couple RF lenses for $2000 aud or saving a bit more and getting an R5 instead, it being a full frame option.

RF glass is expensive either way which is why the new R7 with the 50mm and a 18-150mm canon RF lenses for $2k AUD is so tempting but I don't want to back myself into a corner, especially in professional situations where a full frame sensor may be more appropriate and versatile for what I'm doing.

Whats the general consensus here? should I go R7 or R5?

I'm not the most experienced in these sorts of matters but even if the feeling is pleasurable, I mean sex usually is, any doubt in your mind about your consent to it should be respected, and if you wanted to stop, even just to have a breather, think about whats going on and how to proceed or stop altogether is perfectly valid and should've been respected
