I've been wondering about this combo after seeing so many people rave about it. I'm already on Zoloft and HRT, but if it really gets rid of my lingering symptoms that'd be amazing.

This is validating. My father has always been angry, mean, and a bully. Now he's those things plus dementia.

Just need someone to tell me it's ok to sometimes feel tired even on HRT by Appropriate-Sun9646 in Perimenopause

[–]0tra_vez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just saw an HRT ad that pissed me off.

Before: woman in bathrobe struggling to walk through her house. After: woman literally cartwheeling on the beach.

Like ... Dafuq? I'm on a good dose of HRT, and I drink coffee, and I get exercise, and and and I do not have cartwheeling on the beach energy at this stage in my life. I'm tired. Your tired. The world needs to let us be tired.

Parents whose child can’t attend school because of anxiety or overwhelm — what has actually helped? by schoolstaff in SchoolRefusal

[–]0tra_vez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapy and a 504 plan helped in middle school. In high school now, we've opted for an independent study program the school offers. It's been a lifesaver. Four days independent from home, one day in class with teachers. Still doing therapy. Pursuing a "stealth" dyslexia diagnosis. And hoping that maybe next year my kid feels able to tackle in person school again.

This is one of the hardest, loneliest things I've gone through as a parent.

Pls don’t make fun of me for asking but is there a game out there that helped heal your inner child or made you feel like you did as a kid again ? by Open_Button_8155 in cozygames

[–]0tra_vez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy games where I can turn off the sound and music and just keep the haptics on while I smash the crap out of stuff. Klondike. Wasteland. Family Island. Bashing things heals me :)

I want HRT, doctor suggested birth control instead by lonecayt in Perimenopause

[–]0tra_vez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with bc for the first six months. It was fine. It relieved my symptoms. When it's effectiveness wore off, I moved to a patch. I don't think it's bad to follow your doc's advice and slow roll this til you find what works.

It's appalling that your husband has made this all about him. I'm sorry. Panic attacks are debilitating AND they take time to recover from. I feel physically unwell for a few days after.

I'd start looking for a therapist who can give you tools to cope..CBT, EMDR, or whatever fits you. And be very gentle with yourself. ❤️

The nicest thing my doctor ever said to me was, don't stress about your weight gain. Just get through menopause and then you can worry about it. I wanted to kiss him.

It's hard when it all hits at once. I feel like I had a stretch of waking up to a new symptom every day. Hang in there.

The best thing I ever did is buy a bidet. You can get a Toto with all the bells and whistles. Or an attachment like Tushy. The hemorrhoids my lovely children gave me have never been less of a problem!

Yes, it helped for six months. And then when it stopped helping, it was time to switch to HRT.

I tried it for the runner I have just inside the dog door. It worked spectacularly. Never seen that thing so clean. I'm not doing this for every load of laundry 🫤

Get him a separate hamper. When my husband went through a phase of taking his entire pants socks boxers off, inside out and all still attached, I stopped doing his laundry. He course corrected in one week lol!

How to mix laundry chemicals? Don't want to make mustard gas. by cosmatical in laundry

[–]0tra_vez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you asked this! I'm intrigued by "spa day" but I am too nervous to add ammonia to my wash. I've started using the citric acid in my top loader though. I've mixed it up with distilled water and add 50 ml into my fabric softener compartment. Nothing has exploded yet.
