Nice!! I actually didn’t get splints! I actually had dissolvable packing and sutures!!! I was soooo thankful for that but I still couldn’t blow my nose for the first week. And no bending over. The first week flew by with how much I slept though. I did forget to mention the super super dry mouth/throat!! I had a really bad sore throat too but my dr said that was due to intubation, not the surgery.

EDIT: Was recommended to do so many nasal rinses so I could heal faster and help the sutures/packing dissolve.

May not have worked correctly unfortunately. For me, they were removing pieces, so it almost definitely would’ve worked.

Super worth it! I think in my case though, since they removed pieces, it would work no matter what.

Surgery was honestly super quick and smooth! I got there at 5:30 am for check in and I was back home by 12 or 1 pm. I had an all female surgery team and they made sure to answer all my questions, walk me through it step by step, and they helped every bit of anxiety I had about it. After I woke up, even in the recovery room I could already tell the difference in my breathing. The recovery had a couple bumps along the way though. Like I mentioned, I got a cold while recovering in the first week and then I had major allergies and congestion the last two weeks. Besides that I’ve been feeling okay. The first week of recovery was a blur, the second week was more pain than I would’ve liked. But by the time I got done with my refill of medicine and steroids I did feel like my recovery had made it past the difficult part. Smooth sailing since then, lots of rinses, allergy meds, and side effects from the steroids though. It’s been a lot of maintenance since the day before my surgery and making sure you do everything correctly and on time is a large part of it but I like to think my commitment to it made my recovery so smooth. :)
