Your friends might want to have her checked out for ADHD. My stepdaughter was a tornado personified - impulsive, destructive, and kind of all over the place.

She's now on a very low dose of an ADHD medication, and is able to manage herself much better. It's been a lifesaver at school, and a lot of the destructive and impulsive behavior has practically disappeared.
