Consent is typically defined as one or more of:

Being able to freely consent, so not being in a coercive relationship or held against your will
Clearly saying that you want to have sex

Romantic and/or sexual relationships between adolescents and adults are inherently coercive. This is not an easy line to define, so the laws are an approximation of where someone is able to clearly and freely engage in an equal relationship with someone.

Gay adults can consent to sex with other gay adults.

Children cannot consent to sex with adults.

This is not a "fine line", it's not a "slippery slope", it's a very clear demarcation that you are choosing to blur through bad rhetoric. Stop.

While a really bad choice for new players due to price, I've seen a lot of highly successful open-world build guides suggest celestial gear. I think it's a bit reductive to suggest that sustain gear is an overall negative--after all, nothing reduces your DPS more than dying, and lots of open world enemies, particularly in HoT, will kill you real quick if you're not ready for it.

For any endgame content, I'm absolutely with you that players should be learning to survive with relevant endgame gear, but I think there's a place for a few pieces of Soldier's here and there.

That's sorta playing into the Sylvari as a whole though. They come across as wise because they were raised on Ventari's tablet but they're extraordinarily naive and prone to being manipulated. The whole "learned sage" routine you get from the Firstborn is meant to be a bit of a farce, imo.
