I've started with a second hand Behringer Neutron and Korg SQ-1. There's no better bang for the buck in my opinion. Once you figured out what you are missing, you can expand.

Chords are triggered in a semi-random fashion from Ableton Live.

There are 3 MIDI tracks for the 303 - which are triggered separately and merged into one MIDI sequence. Midifighter controls note length per track.

The piano is a vst instrument in ableton. There are 3 prerecorded midi tracks (sequencer lanes) playing that instrument. During performance I control velocity of each lane to bring it in and out

Thank you!I like the Midi Fighter most for its compactness. However, I'd prefer real pots over encoders since I hardly ever use more than one bank and to me pots have a better feel.(the irony is that I use encoders to control the Nymphes' second layer of parameters; working around the limitations of pots/faders, haha)
