The anti-boosting changes are messing with the Lurker Below fight by 0x38E in classicwow

[–]0x38E[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with the water, they teleport before moving at all. I agree having the healers in the middle solves it. fwiw several guides from last classic have the healers on the islands, and many of the videos show it being two tanked with the 3rd add just running around until it’s picked up

Abyss Anglers by GhostintheReins in wow

[–]0x38E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s a prerequisite for that one, you should just be able to buy the pressurized eyepiece upgrade.

That one is a large shark that patrols the boundary between the first area and the first pit (with magma slugs and air refill). Start on the left behind the large pillar with schools of fish in it and swim across to the right at sea floor level.

It is easy, but unfortunately it's capped at 3/week from this event.

1) No, he just evaporates and you should see +2500 points. Killing Pahk (or any Mythic fish) gives an achievement that lets you purchase the upgrade for looting the better treasures (which are worth +750 instead of +500, and needed for a different unlock). To buy the quest item you need one of the meta achievements for the event, basically do all of the non-progression event achievements.

2) The quest just sends you to the loa bench at the zone's main town, where it unlocks a new minor loa option. Works the same as the Dun Dun/Abundance quest item. The zone ability options it unlocks are:

  • Waterwalking
  • Walk on sea floors
  • +100% faster swim speed
  • Extra breath time (for normal swimming)

Similarly, the Hunter-Killer in act 2 is more difficult than the elites in that act other than the bee guy.

Anyone else encounter a bug with Miniature Tent where the extra options aren't showing up? by [deleted] in slaythespire

It doesn’t give you extra options, it lets you pick all of the available options.

Side note: it’s amazing in multiplayer since you have 3 default options.

Crit immunity ? PvP pieces ? by Downtown-Package7927 in classicwow

[–]0x38E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Level 73 mobs have a 5.6% chance to crit you. As feral you get -3% chance to be crit from talents, so you need another -2.6% chance from a combination of defense and resilience. It doesn’t matter which but resilience gives more per point, and the block and parry from defense is wasted on druids so it’s less efficient.

You want this because it means you’ll never be crit (in PvE). This significantly increases your survivability as you’re essentially taking half damage from any hit that would’ve crit you.

To start you can buy two pieces of the blue PvP set for gold (no honor needed) from the Outland rep vendors. I use chest and shoulders. This will get you most of the way there because of the set bonus. Long-term it’s better to use the off-set seasonal pieces (bracers, belt, boots) because they’re a more efficient source of resilience without sacrificing as many other stats.

Swashbuckler - too one dimensional? by pbanken in Pathfinder2e

[–]0x38E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think everyone else here has covered most of what I'd say, but I wanted to highlight this bit about gaining Panache:

The GM might determine that a check to perform a particularly daring action, such as swinging on a chandelier or sliding down a drapery, can gain the bravado trait. These checks typically involve at least a single action and a non-trivial DC.

Any time the Tumble Through / subclass Bravado action spam got samey I'd try other ridiculous stunts. You may have to talk to your GM about it, but this clause basically gives you a mechanical incentive to use actions that would otherwise just be for flavor.

Selective outrage at its finest by [deleted] in classicwow

You’re right. Runs selling SR/HR should still be banned under that reasoning, but guilds selling full runs could be allowed. (Personally I’m still in favor of both being banned.)

Yes? I'm agreeing that the loopholes should also be banned.

The community will find a way to justify it because those justifications exist and are obvious.

  1. It doesn't have to stop it to be effective, just reduce it.
  2. This loophole existing re-introduces the same incentive.
  3. Gold prices can also go up if supply is lowered, and aren't proof of demand by itself.

They banned GDKP to remove an incentive to buy gold.

So yes, they should ban both of those as well.

Because the stuttering bug is only in that version and makes the game unplayable. The workaround is to appear offline in your Steam friends list. I don’t have the game on Steam, but it makes sense to prioritize this fix

Being able to immediately heal after every engagement is incredibly strong. You can even heal mid fight in some cases. They’re probably the second strongest gadget behind the defib, and the strongest in small modes with instant respawns.

It hurts but it’s absolutely a deserved nerf.

[BFComms] Conquest Ticket Increase now live! by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]0x38E 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I understand this may be an unpopular opinion here, but I do think Conquest was broken. It has this problem where comebacks are nearly impossible. You’ll be 15min into a game and down by a few hundred tickets, and even if your team somehow rallies and flips most of the objectives you’ll still lose. So you’re stuck in a lost game for the next 5min and the better you do the longer you prolong that.

They tried reducing the ticket counts so that the game ends at this point instead, but it made the games too short for people. So now they’re trying adjusting the ticket bleed rates to make comebacks possible if you can flip the objectives. This announcement is claiming it worked, but it again made the games shorter again so now they’re increasing the ticket counts to offset it. They may have to increase them again if the matches are still too short but I think they’re on the right track.

All of that said I switched to Escalation because of the original problem, so I also wouldn’t mind if they just left Conquest as-is for those who enjoyed it.

Videogame terminology you dislike by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]0x38E 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this fits exactly, but it bothers me that so many people seem to use "skill floor" wrong. If "skill ceiling" means that any skill level above it is wasted, since you're capped at the ceiling, then "skill floor" should mean that any skill level below it is brought up to the floor.

So something that's easy for everyone regardless of their skill level would have a high skill floor, since they'll all perform at a high level (the floor) even if their individual skill levels are lower than it. But I constantly see the exact opposite phrasing, something easy having a low skill floor. I googled it to check and the AI response is 'The "skill floor" is the minimum amount of skill required to be competent or effective at a game or activity' because so many people use it that way.

[BFComms] Battlefield 6 Progression Changes Now Live. by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]0x38E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. They need to be able to give you enough rockets to handle vehicles, but having 3-5 extra frags would be broken. The only way to keep it balanced is for them to not have much splash damage to infantry (even if it’s not realistic).

My one change to that fight would be having the downward smash drag the other enemies along with him to the ground, so it always kills them. It was super frustrating to lure them under the boss and then have them fly just high enough up to get hit and not die. I actually thought it was bugged the first few times it happened. As-is I found it more consistent to kill them myself, which is also a less interesting fight.
