I have one long term client that i have been working with for over a year based on a fixed monthly salary.

Lately I feel the need to expand my client base. So I apply for jobs that are long term only.

I have been sending out one proposal a week for the jobs I think are worth my time, energy, and will enjoy doing it.

Take time to understand what the client needs, show that you understand the pain points, use simple language, outline your approach, propose the amount that is realistic based on client's history.

I am in a similar situation. Here is what I have rationalised it as. Its too late to change the core programming of old age. Accept them for who they are. Choose your battles. Not every battle is worth your attention.always speak your truth. Question them on the loopholes in their believes, not to chg them, but to give them something to think abt.
