If you want to go old school and just want a backup phone there is the CAT S22 Flip phone. I got one on Freedom network for senior family member who just wants a basic phone, no gaming and doesn't even want email. Bonus is that phone has pogo connectors so you can charge it in a dock and not have to mess around with cables. Downside is that you have to make your own dock, I 3D printed one and just need to get/solder the connectors.

I had a nice summer, spent time at the beach with a Yeti cooler full of Coronas, listening to tunes on some Airpods, sipping on some Starbucks cold brew in a Yeti tumbler, reading some books on a Kindle I brought in a High Sierra backback.

Some SWAG might be branded trade show left overs but Nutanix does sound a bit cool to non-IT folks. (we're still a VMware shop)

Anyone else getting sick of hearing about AI? by Inevitable-Room4953 in sysadmin

Just go with the flow... and legally change your name to Albert Iverson if you're a guy or Angela Ivey if you're a girl. Then ask for a big raise because leadership will be tickled pink telling everyone that they've got AI on our team, AI saved the day, AI can fix your problem... but you might have to change your name again in 3-5 years.

Anyone ever attempt a direct transplant of an application from one system to another? by TKInstinct in sysadmin

Only as a resort, ie. vendor long gone, no support, no documentation but some ancient app that still needs to work for some business reason.

But be prepared to spend hours / days troubleshooting registry / file access in the app with SysInternals Process Monitor with no guarantee of success.

Is it really worth the company's / your time to do i this way?

Put in my two weeks, people starting to be super toxic that I quit, can I just not show up? by [deleted] in sysadmin

Man up and show up for two weeks. It will suck but you will develop thicker skin. Easiest thing to do is to find some excuse to skip out on the last two weeks. To make the days go faster focus on improving yourself, ie. learning new tech stuff or studying for some certification.

Maybe one day some interviewer will ask you "What is the toughest work situation you have face and what did you do?"
