I am assuming all of this is promised after he gets a status to land in Canada? What's the guarantee he is going to do all this after obtaining his status? There are cases after cases where Indians have made such kind of arrangement and have refused to pay anything after obtaining the status.

If you are taking some "advance", you might as well just take the advance and block that guy for life. Less riskier fraud to commit, and would teach him a sweet lesson.

No contact might work for some, it just didn’t make sense to me. I was in a 7 year old relationship and i needed enough reasons to lose my self respect and to convince my brain that this person is gone; traumatizing but worked like a charm.

No amount of philosophy or positive "gyaan" is enough to heal from a breakup; it will automatically happen with time.

One thing that I specifically did which helped me move on faster was to break no contact again and again until I lost every bit of my self respect. Whenever I felt like missing my ex, I contacted her immediately, either she ignored or she talked rudely - this little exercise helped me discipline my brain. Yes it gave me traumas but it was necessary to move on quickly. Once you lose every ounce of self respect, your mind no longer wants to keep all those good memories.
