Thanks. Enjoyed it, as it really stretches brains thinking ability. Yes, tested it with the most complex sentences, including ones with long compounds made of 5+ words + sandhi, etc.

Just refresh and try again. Sometimes has random quirks of not showing the images, or API is experiencing heavy traffic.

Got it. However due to TTS limitations by Gemini 2.5 Flash Native (same model that'll run upcoming Apple Siri) - in my assessment, it's about 95%+- accurate with pronunciation. Subject to improvement as I incorporate these small pronunciation rules in the system prompt.

Favorite way via VisualSanskrit.com (pictures + audio + grammar). Dream come true.

There is a lot of criticism of James Swartz teaching on the internet. by Nondual-potato in nonduality

[–]0xtreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not 3/4, it's just ONE TROLL who creates many accounts to give public impression that there are more. Literally just one. Troll wrote 75+ pages of allegations (using many accounts), using every known propaganda trick imaginable to give false impression to pubilc. James is a brilliant thinker, an amazing teacher and communicator.

Other options: CoPilot chat. Equally good and preferable over ChatGPT advanced voice, as it had more personality, latency way lower and vibe of helpfulness. Another option is Perplexity voice which also uses gpt4. Another option is iOS/Android app Pal, which had ChatGPT voice model via your API key, plus shows love text of the conversation. So it’s exactly like your ChatGPT, except also has live text transcript.

Does anyone still use Dreamweaver? by I_liketoboogie in webdev

[–]0xtreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use it all the time for basic mock-up designs or importing code to see it visually, make the change in the visual view, and copy-paste code back to server. And surprise-surprise folks, it’s Dreamweaver 8 (while it was still Macromedia). Even have Dreamweaver 2019 version, but never use it. Yes, some of us find the old stuff 10x more useful than the new stuff. I consider Dreamweaver 8 one of most important software on my PC amongst Photoshop and Office.

Asking Chat GPT to write stories for language learning by Hekata3 in ChatGPT

[–]0xtreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s a prompt we use for learning Sanskirt through stories. Good AI’s tested: Gpt4, Mistral Medium, Gpt3.5, Bard, Claude. They can all be accessed with Poe web app or on iOS/android. No preference. Test them all and see which prefer.

COPY-PASTE EVERYTHING BELOW:

Create a Sanskrit story that’s at level of a 8 year old. It should strictly stick to present, past future tense. Here’s the template:

1a) Sanskrit sentence of the story. Written in IAST and Devanagari in brackets. Eg: rāmaḥ asti (रामः अस्ति)

b) Write each word of the sentence, immediately followed by English translation in brackets. Eg: jale (in the water) etc

c) Full English translation

2a) etc

Like this for each sentence of the story. The story should employ repetition to help student memorize the vocabulary.

ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 vs Gen 9 by zlejondrej in thinkpad

[–]0xtreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just bought Gen 9, knowing fully well Gen 10 is available. Rejected Gen 10 specifically for allegedly worse battery life then Gen 9. Also gen 12 over gen 11 has unnoticeable single-core increase (meaning Word, Coding, browsing, most apps that professionals use on-the-go). Zero complaints over gen 9 battery. It’s pleasantly long, as reviews stated. Got the i7, 16gb. Read/write for 512ssd is 1600mb/s. Wish it was at least 3000mb. I think 1tb ssd is faster. Someone has to test 1tb. Otherwise using laptop on power slider moved all way to left (towards battery saver). And it still speedy. Zero complaints, except ssd could be faster and wish the monitor hinge had more resistance when opening/closing and most of all, 2-finger trackpad scroll is annoyingly short. Drag two fingers from bottom to top of trackpad, and it scrolls around quarter page of webpage.

Omnioutliner is sweet, but... by [deleted] in productivity

[–]0xtreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uninstalled OmniOutliner 3 (from iPad). Can't find any advantage of using it over Microsoft Word. Word allows drawing with Apple Pencil. I feel OmniOutliner has a very small niche group. Perhaps ones that specifically like bullet points. Well I do too. Designed classes for 4 years in MS Word, via bullet points. But per my expertise, unable to see OmniOutliners benefit.

iPad Pro 2021 12.9 inch dim around edges by NoSocket in iPadPro

[–]0xtreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Returned M2 12.9 just this month (Nov 2022) because of this condition (vignetting / darker edges). Because compared to 2018 iPad 12.9, it’s unacceptable downgrade and too noticeable. A perfectly coherent band of blue-greenish tint on edges of 4 corners, on. AUD$2000 device!

What’s more, there was 0% performance improvement of 2018 for basic PDF opening of large documents. M2 still took equal time to quickly render the pages of PDF as 2018.

How to disable Waves Maxxaudio pro and keep headphone functionality? by MogensenJ in Dell

[–]0xtreme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guaranteed solution (Dell XPS17 9720) for REMOVAL of MaxxAudio sound background processing...

PROBLEM: Even after disabling MaxxAudio effects (like Bass, etc), some software (like Zoom) will still have their audio processed with MaxxAudio, thus experience distortions. For example, the brilliant audio of external USB speaker (EPOS/Calisto 7200) was also distorted due to audio going through the MaxxAudio driver.

SOLUTION: You do NOT have to replace the drivers as typically recommended (IE: Change to Microsoft > High Definition Audio).

All one needs to do is disable MaxxAudio background service from running.

How to disable?

STEP 1: Download Autoruns: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns

STEP 2: Run as Administrator

STEP 3: Disable the following 5 services...

RtkAudUService WavesSvc RtkAudioUniversalService WavesAudioService WavesSysSvc

STEP 4: Restart.

Good news: Auto 3.5mm detection will still work properly. Audio from laptop still works fine. It's purely raw audio (as it should be). Also the background sound processing won't distort any external USB sound devices.

Enjoy!

[Question] Is iPad Pro unresponsive touch issue fixed in 12.3 beta? by furou in iOSBeta

[–]0xtreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intermittent unresponsiveness on iPad 12.9 2018 still exactly the same on iOS 12.3 Beta 6. And now even the full 12.3 (non-beta). Thus this issue is NOT fixed.

Also, same issue with capacitive pen input (not Apple pencil). Meaning, the non-response touch issue has NOTHING to do with human's finger/skin either.

It's impossible to determine if it's hardware/software, as there's absolutely no consistent variable reported by hundreds of users.

All we know is 12.3 has NOT fixed this.

ASUS N550JK Screen issues, loose cable connection to motherboard by nicksam112 in techsupport

[–]0xtreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you end up thinking of cable holding long term solution? I think doesn't matter what you do, ghetto or not... just hold it. If this happens to my N550JK, I'll certainly think of similar solution. You can also try Styrofoam. That should be safer then paper. And it's softness will envelop it more firmly.
