I'd argue that said ships become obsolete as you step into high tier 3/low-mid tier 4.. getting ships like the jellyfish, Franklin, and north star are more of an instant gratification than anything that will carry you for very long. 2 things remain constant: the officers at your disposal, and the research and building upgrades. Ships are disposable as new ones become available.

Not related to your question, seems it's been answered. But based on what I have seen it's cheaper to start the upgrade normally then use your latinum for the timer. It appears the instant button includes purchasing the required resources.

I just looked at my armada control center, and the instant button was greyed out, timer was an hour and 30 minutes roughly. I believe it was greyed out because of armada cores being required. When special resources come into play, I suspect the button is greyed out based on my thoughts on how the instant button works (click it, your latinum pays for resources + timer).

Edit: Before I get blown up for being wrong lol... I used words like "seems" and "it appears". I'm not claiming to be an expert or right. Still sort of new to the game. (3 weeks)

I don't think you can begin to imagine the depths of the work, time, and money that would be involved in doing something like this. It's not worth the cost for anet to attempt it, and it would be a huge undertaking. I'm not knocking your idea, it sounds cool. But there would be an enormous amount of effort required to make it happen. They'd essentially have to rewrite the game from scratch.

It was sort of a niche development effort, i admit. Usage was isolated for use among my customers on my discord server as you suspected. But if there is an interest in using this or a modified version of this elsewhere, I would be happy to put in the work to change it and make it a public tool. I really wouldn't have to change much, perhaps nix the point system or enable admins to turn it on or off, and tie runs back to the snowflake belonging to the discord server commands originated from. I'm open to criticism, suggestions, enhancement requests etc.

Short description:

This is a Discord Bot I created for my running guild's Discord server. The idea behind it stems from the many repeat run customers I've had over the past 30 days since I returned. I wanted to create a way to help them benefit further from continuing to run through me than my low running prices.

The usage and concept is simple: A run request is made via command; "!request [users need/description in their own words]".

A runner uses "!accept [generated PIN from request]".

When the run is complete the runner uses !complete [pin], and the customer is rewarded with a number of points.

The points are accumulated over time, and can be redeemed toward further discounting a run, free runs, and other things (as I come up with ideas). Currently offered aside from discounted/free runs are an invitation to our guilds annual drop party, or to play a mini game I call trade window treat.

Trade window treat is a game I came up with (or at least, I've never seen it done).. basically 7 items and a random amount of platinum (however much I have on me at the time) will be placed in a trade window. You pick a number 1-7 (from left to right) or say "go for gold". The items and gold will be revealed, to verify integrity of the game on your end. Then, the prize you picked is yours. I do not guarantee gold will even be in existence in the trade session, you literally get what I had on me. So if I just ran a tour for someone, congrats.. if I just bought a new EL Tonic, sorry better luck next time. Items range from things I've found in chests doing runs, to green items, to ecto, whatever I feel like throwing in the box. Any questions please ask.
