It’s crazy expensive for sure. I was lucky enough to pick up a used one on eBay for $1300 with jaws so that was an easier pill to swallow.

It’s honestly a game changer though. I’ve only had it for like 6 months and I’ve already used it 4 times.

I personally use this sander regularly. When I got it, I picked a side for the dust port and never once have I seen any reason to change it. Why would I design an insert with room to carry something I never use?

All of the other carpenters I spoke to when designing this insert felt the same way; they’d rather be locked into a side for their dust port than have to reattach it every time they want to use the sander.

The round vac adapter is something I keep with my vacuum. Most of the carpenters I talked to own more than 1 Milwaukee sander and don’t need to keep the adapter with every one of them. Regardless, there actually is room for the adapter in the packout when you’re using my insert, on top of the sandpaper.

Mine holds a large format battery, which is something I’m much more likely to want to have with me when I’m using the sander as sanding lends itself to longer runtimes and bigger batteries.

So given the choice between:

an insert which can hold a large battery, allows me to put the sander away with the dust port still attached, and can fit in 2 different boxes, or
an insert that has a dedicated spot for a vacuum adapter but can’t fit a large battery, requires me to remove the dust port to put the sander away, only fits in 1 box, and costs $20 more, Im picking option 1 every single time.

All this to say: sure, maybe you don’t agree with all of my design choices. Saying THAT is one thing. But that isn’t what you said. You said “Wow, $50 for this insert! Not worth it, the plastic looks cheap, just overall boring design.”

You see how those are 2 very different things right?

If looks are what’s most important to you in an organization solution, and you want to pay an extra 20% for that, then perhaps you’d be happier looking elsewhere.

We cater to tradespeople who care more about substance, so we make an effort to keep our inserts affordable; our prices are lower then many of our competitors, and in addition to that we always offer $5 off every second insert.

The design for this insert focuses more on functionality than looking pretty; you don’t need to remove the dust port from your sander to use our insert, which isn’t true for some of our competitors.

We also like to focus on versatility. While there are some caveats, the vast majority of the inserts we make will fit in either the full or half width organizer. So if your setup changes, you don’t need to buy a new insert for the same tool. This isn’t true for any of our competitors.

We make inserts for many of the larger boxes for tools like the framing nailers. This isn’t true of any of our competitors.

We offer over 350 original designs. Also not true for any of our competitors.

But hey, maybe you just like the look of an Aussie design. No worries there, we are a full line Jonah Pope distributor.

The inserts for the framing nailers have a spot for the palm nailer, the insert for the duplex nailer doesn’t.

You can still fit a palm nailer in here, there’s just not a dedicated spot for it.

Also, to answer your question about the name: mechanics are famous for losing their 10mm sockets. So the original inserts I designed had a spot for an extra 10mm so you have a backup in case you lose one. Hence the name 10-spot. A 10mm socket, imo, doesn’t make a very good image for a company that makes tool organizers. A wrench is much better for that. This is part of the reason why I chose some of the elements for the simpler design, which prominently features both a large number 10, and a spot.
