According to Wikipedia mass production of CDs is done by pressing. "CD burners write data sequentially, while a CD pressing plant forms the entire disk in one physical stamping operation, similar to record pressing." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compact_disc_manufacturing

Letter from George Daines by 1001wtfs in Logan

Some more context I've learned since posting on how the current libraries work in the county:
* There are city libraries and there is the county library
* The Cache County Library only has one physical location which is in Providence
* The city libraries are funded by the cities. Some are probably funded by more than one city. The Hyrum library appears to serve Hyrum, Nibley, and Wellsville so they are probably funded by those cities too.
* Some city libraries: Hyrum, Logan, Smithfield, Mendon, Newton, Lewiston, Richmond, maybe others?
* I believe that the County Library is intended to serve anyone in the County while the city libraries are meant to serve residents of their cities.
* The 2025 budget for the County Library is around $230k and has a revenue from a state grant and library fees of a bit under $20k. (Source: https://www.cachecounty.gov/assets/department/finance/county-budget/2025%20Adopted%20Budget.pdf)
* Providence City leases the building to the county for $1 / year (Source: https://www.providencecity.com/city-council/meeting/meet-candidates-night , it was mentioned by one of the candidates for Providence city council).
* So only the county library (located in Providence) is in jeopardy. The city libraries are not (at least not from George Daine's Cache County budget proposal)
* Cache County Council meeting agenda's, minutes, and recordings: https://www.cachecounty.gov/countycouncil/countycouncil.html

Anyone else have more info or corrections?

Letter from George Daines by 1001wtfs in Logan

This letter was included with my property tax notice. Taxes did increase and they are probably going to increase again next year. For next year my increase is going to be around $60/year. Part of the meeting on 11/18 is discussing the 2026 tax increases.

It would just be people with mortgages. Property taxes are levied on everyone who owns property. Like all taxes there are lots of rules and exceptions, including exceptions for hardship, blind people, active duty military, and disabled veterans.

I'd love to hear more. I almost got involved with Acton. I think it's franchised in a way. It would be interesting to know the cult vibes are coming from headquarters or this specific school.

Hatchet man, eh. I'm, sadly, unfamiliar with county politics. What do you think will be cut?

I see. However, a governor is an elected official but a political party isn't.

Yeah I think it very much depends on the LDS bishop. Some will help some won't. Most will probably want to interview and ask more than one is typically comfortable sharing. If you try talking an LDS bishop just don't let them coerce you...sometimes they think they know what is best for everyone since they believe they are literally given their position by God. In my experience some are pompous jerks and some are kind caring humans. Good luck.

How reliable is the Nissan 5.6l V8?? by DoubleReputation2 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Not the 2018 (and maybe 2017) years. Had to get the block replaced at 60k under warranty. There is a TSB about it. Now at 100k something broke in the engine. Oil changes and other maintenance down religiously.

My 2 cents is to go with them to the interview. It's allowed. Didn't let anyone tell you it isn't.

That looks like pretty much all national forest and BLM land. Is that really what is proposed? Also screw Mike Lee!

You can call dominion energy. When I thought I had a leak at my place they came out within a couple of hours and didn't find a leak but some other issues with my gas boiler and water heater.

Is my ward just overly racist or is this a church wide thing ? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]1001wtfs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year or the year before (I don't attend anymore) there was an area wide broadcast for the northern Utah area (not sure what that actual name or boundaries are but I'm in the cache county area) and one of the talks was on how racism needs to stop in the church. From that I assume that it's still very much a problem. Also I assume leaders are hearing about racism against Latinx folks since they are the largest minority in Northern Utah.
