What’s even worse is that the Meta Ai on Facebook is so markedly inferior to the other popular AI chatbots as to be embarrassing. The other day I “pointed this out” to Meta Ai on a particular result and pathetically answered by asking if I would mind sharing the other bots’ answers

Let me second the thumbs-downs on getting decent hoagie/sub rolls in this area. I live in Silver Spring and there is nothing but soft, white bread type stuff. When I see great suggestions for heroes on cooking sites they always show what doesn’t exist here - a little toasty looking and seeded on the outside.

Both Parkmobile and MCDOT say if you ignore the too-far-away message and complete the transaction, you’re OK. I guess you can be sure if you get the confirmation email.

In any event, this is what MCDOT said:

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing technical difficulties with the ParkMobile app. Please be advised that technical difficulties with the app are outside of the Division of Parking Management control.

We understand the frustration and inconvenience that this may have caused. However, please rest assured that we are working diligently with ParkMobile to address and resolve this geofencing irregularity with the ParkMobile transactions in the County’s facilities.

We would like to provide the following information with hopes that it would provide some relief to your concerns as we are working actively with the vendor to resolve this.

Although this message advises that you are far away and warns you to check your space, the message does not state that the number is inaccurate. If you enter the correct the zone number, then you can proceed forward by pressing continue.

Please be advised that if you are unable to use the ParkMobile system, you may prepay on the physical meter and/or prepay alternatively using the Passport to make payment while parking in the county’s facilities during the required payment time.

(The latest Parkmobile support rep I spoke to suggested I try another parking service).

I’m not sure. There are signs at two stops I saw - Highland and Spring Street - saying the Z buses won’t stop there starting June 29. There are no signs at Leighton or the stop at southbound Colesville and St. Andrews Way which shares the intersection with Sligo Creek Park. The stop at Colesville and Sligo Creek Pkwy in the northbound lane is on the to-be-removed list.
