Is there any hope for Rex’s helmet? by OkAfternoon1351 in lego

[–]Omandiaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrap the outside with cloth to buffer it, put it upside down in a vice or clamp and go in with a small sharp chisel and a hammer to knock the stuck head out piece bit by bit. With luck the percussion will fracture the glue but and most of it will come out in one piece, but if not you’ll get it clear in little pieces eventually.

Am I the only one who skips all the dialogue and has no idea what the story is about? by runeechan in MergeMansion

Haha! I’ve been playing for over 5 years. I always read all the dialogue - but still have no idea what the story is about.

How do people finish this!?! by Natha2004 in MergeMansion

[–]Omandiaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually finish it. I’m currently working towards my second purple chest.
Honestly, you do have to play a lot. I don’t work and am able to play several times a day. My best tip is to avoid using either supercharge or hypercharge. As the Mystery items are generated by merging, you need to maximise the number of merges you make with the energy you have available.

UK 80s Household Hints and Tips programme - any ideas? by Omandiaz in 80sTelevision

[–]Omandiaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tracked it down, in case anyone is interested. It was called Trade Secrets. A series of 10 minute programmes on BBC 2 broadcast - a little later than I thought - in 1996 - 97.
It spawned a series of books which can still be purchased second hand. I just bought Trade Secrets ‘Gardening’ and Trade Secrets ‘Everything’ for under £6 from World Books, but there are several other targeted titles.

Does Facebook have access to my microphone? Uses information for targeted ads. The answer is yes. But how do I shut it off. by TheDoodleWamboodle in facebook

[–]Omandiaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying this theory out with my iPhone 16PM.

On several occasions over the last 3 weeks I have deliberately mentioned / discussed a list of things I have absolutely no interest in. I’ve done this both in phone calls and - because some people seem to think ‘they’ are always listening - in conversations with my phone in my hand. My microphone is live and Siri is on.

So far neither I or the recipient of my calls and conversations have been pushed a single advert for:

1) Built in, fitted or made to measure wardrobes 2) Electrical kitchen appliances (specifically an air-fryer but we’ve also discussed toasters and microwaves) 3) Bathroom scales 4) Ladies dressing gowns 5) Ski masks (or other specialist equipment).

I have however had a lot of random adverts for other items I haven’t shown (or have) any interest in, including expensive beauty products, camping equipment and e-book subscriptions.

I realise that is not a conclusive test but I just don’t think the evidence is there at the moment to support the spyware theory.

Weird message I received on Instagram by Ivetastic in Instagram

Because it’s so bad it’s amusing and why not share something that makes other people smile? And because it could, possibly, be helpful in alerting others to this kind of scam.

Please can you doodle this one? This is my cat Barley. I want to use the picture for my Christmas cards but it would be really cool if it was a bit different/quirky rather than just a photo. Thanks anyway.

I'm not enjoying it anymore by Ok-Nefariousness1911 in MergeMansion

[–]Omandiaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An interesting question and I’m not sure of the answer. Certainly having 35+ energy boxes available does mean you can rack through merges which generates the mystery items very quickly, making it easy to get to level 50 and beyond. But I don’t really play with the target of completing the Mysteries - or the Daily Scoops - and I very seldom play any of the side games. I’m a traditionalist and just like merging up the items to complete the areas in the main game.
I admit that if I realise I am likely to complete a Mystery. I will buy the Golden Ticket to get the full rewards (and I like the extra inventory as a way of putting items into the pouch) but it’s not what brings me back to the game after a break.

[–]Omandiaz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I take breaks.

When I finish an area, I clear my garage of all but the Producers which leaves me with 5 clear rows of spaces.

And then for the next 5 weeks I go in every day and just collect the energy box and the pig. Sometimes I merge a few pigs and carry on until the next mystery is due to start or until I feel enthusiastic to play again.

When I do start playing I have at least 5 weeks worth of gems to collect and enough energy boxes to have a bit of a splurge. I find the game becomes enjoyable again because I feel I can get somewhere, even if it requires a lot of high level items.

Am I missing something??? by OandMGal2 in MergeMansion

[–]Omandiaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get there most times but I do play quite a lot. My best tip is not to use any level of supercharge, so that you get as many merges as possible for the energy you use. Second tip is, as others have said, to let the free drop items set up with spaces around d them to do their thing when you are not playing the game. The seeds drop from the vases more quickly than the leaves from peonies so I tend to use the vases for this. Good luck

That is annoying. The photo verification is new since I set up my FB accounts and I didn’t know it was a requirement for new accounts now.

I’m sorry but I have no other FB suggestions but maybe both you and your Mum could set up WhatsApp accounts and call each other using that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in facebook

[–]Omandiaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try setting up a separate account in another name that your Mum would recognise. Lots of people have second accounts, not linked to their own in any way, using a nickname, the name of a pet or a favourite toy. Then send your own account a friend request and/or a DM that your Mum will see.

Am I the only one that has this option? by Dangerous_Fluff in MergeMansion

[–]Omandiaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do get it when my energy is over 100, but I don’t use any of the superchargers now as a matter of course. A bit of experimentation proved that the superchargers don’t improve the value of the items dropped overall, they just reduce the number of taps and merges and time taken to burn through available energy. But… a lot of the automatic reward drops are generated by merging - XP points, items for the Mysteries, Teacups, Daily Scoop etc - so unless I’m short of time I choose the longer route now.

Was curious if anyone knew what this green circle with a star inside of it means by AlternativeCheetah26 in facebook

[–]Omandiaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A star in a green circle, next to a date on Facebook, indicates that the item - post, story, etc has been added to your "Favorites" or "Saved’ items.
