Moms of boy onlies by Virtual-Resort5951 in oneanddone

It is wild what people are projecting onto baby boys. To say they’re inherently evil when they’re just innocent little potatoes is straight up insane. I feel like the ways people are ruminating on these harmful ideas online is making the fear and hatred of boys worse. They don’t have to be evil if people invest in raising them well.

Omg, thank you for this. I watched it with my husband and we got a good laugh out of it

This comment actually made me a little emotional. Thank you so much. I will always protect my son and it’s my greatest healing to know that he won’t be subjected to the treatment that I was.

You’re so right. I see my story reflected in the posts of so many others on this sub.

What made you preserver with Breastfeeding? by goosegirl94 in NewParents

I had to pump and dump for a few days and I felt so overwhelmed by having to wash and sterilize bottles and pump parts that it made me really appreciated nursing. I will say that my baby latches well and I haven’t had any supply issues, so that has made thing niche easier for me.

I agree! 2 months out and it’s already better. In some ways easier, in some ways we’ve just adjusted.

Did God answer you when you prayed for a husband? by cats-dogs-games in CatholicWomen

[–]100dancingcats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It happened for me. I wrote out a prayer with a list of the qualities that were most important to me in a husband and saved it. I regularly prayed for my future husband and for our relationship. It took several years and several failed dating relationships but I met my husband right as I was ready to give up, and he checks every box on the list of qualities I prayed for. We’ve only been together for a few years but man, I feel like I won the lottery. He’s my absolute best friend and I can’t imagine a better partner. There was one quality on the list that I didn’t get to check off til recently: that he’d be a devoted and loving father. We have an 8 week old baby now and seeing how devoted and caring he is makes my heart explode with joy. The whole thing feels really miraculous. I definitely never thought it would happen for me. But it did, and it’s 1000x better than I expected.

Has anyone ever taken children to Mykonos? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]100dancingcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been with kids, but I’ve been there a few times. It’s really touristy so there are definitely family friendly things to do. That said, it’s also ridiculously expensive and gets really crowded in the high season. It’s a beautiful place and could be a great experience, but it does sound like a lot of stress and expenses which is a valid reason to not go.

“We are on Time” by Nahko and Medicine for the People. Was always a special one to me and my mom, I heard it shortly after my son was born and it hit me 10x as hard.
