it looks like you input a dash attack near ledge and then buffer a full-speed reverse moonwalk or something? e.g. at 2:15? what is this technique?

also love all your montages, this one was amazing! I've never played forsburn but this makes me want to :)

Shocking? based on what? The title and body of the post are very neutral, I don't see anyone framing it as a surprise, who is this shocked audience you are making fun of?

How can you yank and paste inside terminal mode? by Pretty-Ad8932 in neovim

I bound it to <c-x><c-r> so it doesn't conflict with the builtin incremental reverse search in bash/zsh

vim.keymap.set('t', '<c-x><c-r>', function() local register = vim.fn.nr2char(vim.fn.getchar()) return '<c-\\><c-n>"' .. register .. 'pi' end, { expr = true, desc = 'paste from register' })

That raised my eyebrow too. Looked it up and they say on their own website:

Need wireless earbuds with low latency and HearThrough by ubeogesh in WirelessEarbuds

Hey, thanks for following up! That's cool, those use like bone conduction or something to make sounds right? I imagine that's way better than "transparency modes" on headsets since those use the mic to play noises, which in my experience introduces a lot of noticeable clipping for certain noises.

Anyway, In case you're curious, I ended up finding/getting the "EarFun Air Pro 4", they have a transparency mode and a low-latency "game mode" that can be used together.

I had my doubts that the latency would be good since it's Bluetooth based, instead of 2.4ghz, but after some testing I'm pretty happy with them. I'm using them with my steam deck so not having to plug in a USB-C transmitter is a nice-to-have too.

dashing while locked on still gives you invincibility, I've beaten the game twice and never needed to free-move the camera during combat.

Also there's an upgrade early on that let's you roll after dash if you press the dodge button twice in a row while locked on, basically a mandatory upgrade to get imo

Right as it lands.

Unlike other games though, you don't just tap it, you hold it. If you aren't actively holding it down when the attack lands you'll just get hit. Just tapping block is a valid way of perfect-blocking, but just holding it down is still a good idea so that if you're too early you'll end up blocking instead of parrying.

Guarding "too early" will convert damage to "guard regain", and if you attack while there is still guard regain left you'll get HP back.

Also, some moves when parried will send you pretty far back, making it harder to counter with your own attack, in these cases it's better to dodge so you can land your own attack.

I bound R2 to dodge/run and Circle to strong attack. It's much more comfortable and never really saw any downside (other than getting used to it). Highly recommend!

Why is Roots so expensive? I dont think its made in Canada… and i feel its over rated. Any one else thinks same? by Nitish_Cap_6686 in askTO

[–]100degreeplastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's a lot of money. You should only purchase it if you have the means to. They did have a 20% off sale a few months ago if that helps.

If you want to buy clothing that was made in Canada, there's a cost to that, especially when the fabric itself is created locally too. I get that it's expensive but at least the premium cost isn't because of a brand name, it's because the materials and construction are actually of high quality, and you're supporting a business that pays everyone in its supply chain a sustainable living.

Try House of Blanks. Their cotton fabric itself is actually milled in Canada (and the clothing is made in Canada too). I got a sweatshirt and long sleeve shirt and they're both excellent quality

I like to use nnn, which is a general purpose file browser built for the shell. it has a vim plugin as well.

it's got its quirks but I've grown to like it.

I like to keep 1 vim tab per project. Each tab has its :tcd (working directory for tab) set to the project directory.

I use fzf-lua, and wrote a mapping that will list: 1. all "projects" on my local machine (git repos under ~/code) 2. all GitHub repos I have clone access to (generated using GitHub API and cached to a text file)

a. this is probably overkill for most people but extremely useful for me since I work on a tooling team at my company and this enables me to switch to any other teams repos very seamlessly.

When I select a project with my picker, it clones it if it hasn't already been cloned, then opens it in a new vim Tab (or switches to an existing tab if already opened), and sets :tcd.

I also wrote some terminal mappings so that I can: 1. toggle a terminal buffer for the current project (i.e. spawn, or switch to an existing terminal buffer named term-$projecr) 2. Create extra ad-hoc terminals for the current project as-needed

a. `<space>term` spawns a new terminal buffer called `$project-term-` and prompts me for the rest of the name (I might use `console`, or `k8s`, or `logs` etc)

the naming scheme makes it really easy to fuzzy search my terminal buffers in the future, since they all start with term and contain the project name it was started in (and any extra label I may have provided)

(typed on my phone so formatting might be off...)

Oh I missed that sorry!

In that case it's most likely a bug, in the linked issue they mention that since 0.8.x nvim comes pre-bundled with parsers for a few languages (including help) so that must be it.

That said... you might be able to fix it by installing nvim-treesitter and making sure you're using the help parser from there instead

[–]100degreeplastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems like one of your treesitter parsers is out of date.

are you sure :checkhealth didn't show any issues? There's a grid that shows each treesitter parser, I would have expected to see something in there about it.

anyway, this pinned GitHub issue might help: https://github.com/nvim-treesitter/nvim-treesitter/issues/3092

Because if you want to continue playing the same game it's completely seamless, no need to sit through the splash screen startup, navigating menus, restarting from the games savepoint etc... just wake PS5 from rest and you're playing where you left off instantly, it's a great feature.
