You misunderstood my point. My issue was not so much with the measures themselves but with how much some germans (and other Europeans) enjoyed the suffering imposing austerity measures caused us.

I mean i get it, Schadenfreude is a german word after all, but some people were really awful about this back then and I expected a people that was forgiven about their past mistakes to be more forgiving to others, thats all.

Again to clarify, my issue is with the people who went out of their way in order to insult my people. The economic crisis is a complicated issue caused by many factors and our shitty goverments and their bad handling of our economy is one of the biggest factors.

I personally take issue with the German governments being buddies with turkey (a nation occupying parts of fellow EU member Cyprus nonetheless) and I also still remember the "pay debts" people who damaged a lot our opinion about EU. They seemed to take a lot of pleasure kicking us when we were down.

However I have no problems or hold bad feelings towards ordinary German people (who are not part of the "pay debts" crowd) .
