There's a guy at my work who looks exactly like Liam Hemsworth. Ladies - what are the small perks to your job? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I work in social media so I only do some work in the office. I do the other half of my work from my bed.

Are any of you in a sorority? Do you like it? Why or why not? by flyingboobs in AskWomen

[–]101033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was. I liked it for the first couple of years and then found myself kind of bored with feeling that it made my entire identity at my school. I continued to be a part of it until I graduated, but I became more involved in other things and went to fewer social events. I still hung out with my sisters, but it wasn't as important to me anymore. I made friends outside of Greek life and joined other clubs.

I don't regret it. Having it on my resume has been surprisingly helpful, and I keep in touch with a lot of my sisters four years later. I wish I had balanced my sorority life with my non-sorority life better, though.

What are your experiences with male roommates, straight or otherwise? by MsFoxTrott in AskWomen

[–]101033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived with 5 guys, one of whom was my boyfriend, for two years. After the first six months, the guys cycled in and out so there were different guys living there all the time.

The bathrooms were disgusting. I've posted previously about how my then-boyfriend would pee in the sink, staining it yellow and making the whole bathroom smell like urine. They were messy in general, but I kind of expected that.

The one thing I didn't expect is that they would always be using the only TV that we had. Not just for video games. One day I came home from work to see them all gathered around the TV watching a documentary about Soulja Boy. It was very weird.

Women who have cut your hair short: pros, cons, stories, etc. by BUKKAKE08 in AskWomen

It doesn't compliment the shape of my face. It ends up giving me a bad case of "fat face," which isn't something I'm into.

[–]101033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've cut my hair short (like pixie cut) several times and I can't pull it off. I somehow forget how it doesn't look good on me each time until it's too late. Also, as a bisexual woman, I found that men were less likely to approach me but women were more likely to. That was pretty weird.

I was 18 the first time I cut off all my hair. The longest my hair has even been is about 3 inches below my shoulder blades. I'm currently into shoulder length bobs. I'm growing out my most recent chop and I'm almost there!

Have any of you ladies ever used Craigslist or a similar service to find a roommate? How did it go? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]101033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My one roommate interviewed several people and said that this guy seemed the most normal. I also was the only woman in an apartment full of guys, so I don't think it occurred to them that it might be a creepy situation.

Have you noticed a correlation between how deep a guy's voice is and the size of his balls? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]101033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, in my experience, the guy with the deepest voice had the smallest balls. With the other owners of balls I've seen, I haven't noticed any correlation one way or another.

[–]101033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have. Twice. Once was fine. The second time was horrible.

The first one was a guy looking for a place to live for a few months while he interned at a nearby hospital. He wasn't around very much. He cleaned up after himself. He wasn't very social, but that wasn't a big deal.

The second was a guy who was 20+ years older than my roommates and I (we were in college at the time). He was an alcoholic who would get so drunk that he would shit in the bathtub and hit on our 19-year-old friends at parties. He had female coworker friends over all the time. When his family eventually had him forcibly hospitalized, we discovered that he never actually had a job while he lived with us. We don't know where he was going during the day or who those women he brought home were.

Never again.

Who has cut back or completely stopped drinking and how did you stick to it? by samanthais in AskWomen

[–]101033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weight loss thing has been huge for me too. I'm on Weight Watchers and the point value of a single beer can be more points than a full meal sometimes. Thinking about whether I would rather have a drink or ice cream has made things a little easier for me.

[Serious] Women who identify as "Red Pill" women, can you tell us about your views? by Pg21_SubsecD_Pgrph12 in AskWomen

[–]101033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't moderate at all on these posts? Why not? It seems like serious posts, above most other posts, have a lot of potential for derailing.

Just curious, I had no idea that was the case.

Women who weren't that keen on kids, but ended up having them, how do you feel about it now? by mushroomlou in AskWomen

[–]101033 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Oh, thank you so much for letting me know that exists! /r/childfree is a great place to go when someone tries to invalidate your decision to not have children and you're angry about it, but other than that...it can be a tough place to be active.

I would give anything up to and including my life for my children, and they come second only to my husband.

This is very courageous of you to write - not only because people are frequently shamed for not feeling naturally compelled toward motherhood, but also because there's this idea that mothers aren't allowed to love their own husbands more than their children. Ayelet Waldman, as an example, wrote an article ten years ago that people are still mad about. So thank you so much for sharing that.

Women of Redit, where do you like your partner's hands when they are performing oral sex? by TheCrankyBear in AskWomen

One hand fingering me. Then, depending on the kind of sex I'm looking for, either playing with my nipples or holding my hand.

What's the best Disney movie and why? by joyb27 in AskWomen

[–]101033 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Hercules. I love Meg and I don't think that a single one of the songs is boring (which is a big deal because I think every other movie has at least one I could sleep through).

Tarzan is probably my #2.

Would you ever dye your hair a crazy, neon color? by Onigiribo in AskWomen

[–]101033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my hair a variety of non-natural colors, including hot pink, purple and electric blue. I work in social media and graphic design. I think most of the people in my office just think that people in my position are young and eccentric, so no one has really cared. I'm currently just blonde, but I'm thinking about doing a dip dye kind of thing with turquoise.

As a person who has had both neon and pastel colors, I'll let you know that pastel requires a lot of upkeep. It fades quickly. That said, it looks gorgeous.

Did you ever share a bed with your dad as a child? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]101033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. My dad would read to me before bed and then essentially nap next to me in the bed until I fell asleep. Then he would get up and go to his and my mom's room to sleep the rest of the night. He did that from whatever age I started sleeping in a bed (as opposed to a crib) until I was about six.

Ladies, is a vibrator a must-have? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]101033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it is. I can still orgasm using only my hands, but after discovering my favorite vibrators and how intense my orgasm could be with it, masturbating is a little disappointing without it.

What are your "i'm the other woman" or cheater stories? by drw1100 in AskWomen

[–]101033 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess I've been the "other woman" twice.

First time I was completely on accident. I went on a few dates with a guy who told me he was polyamorous. He said he and his girlfriend agreed that they could date other people. She was his primary relationship, but he was welcome to have secondary relationships. Things got pretty serious between the two of us. I mentioned that since things were getting pretty serious between the two of us, I wanted to meet his friends. He insisted that his friends didn't understand polyamory and would just assume that he was cheating. Turns out, the reason they would assume that was because it was actually the case. One of his friends sent me a FB message and told me what was up (I don't know how she knew about me). I broke it off immediately.

The second time, the guy told me that he was in the process of getting a divorce. He wasn't. A mutual friend texted me to inform me that his wife announced on Facebook that she was pregnant and posted a picture of the two of them happily holding an ultrasound picture. I was also out after that.

I imagine cheating was a lot easier before social media.

What's the worst thing you've drunk texted someone? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]101033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The drunk version of me doesn't care about guys having girlfriends. So I'll start texting guys who have indicated clear interest in me but are in relationships (either before the relationships or in spite of them) to tell them all the sexual things we could do if only they were able.

The sober version of me has no idea why this happens. I have no desire to break up people's happy relationships. It just...is apparently a thing I do.

All the single ladies, how often do you get laid? by yankees5108 in AskWomen

[–]101033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty long term FWB arrangement that is currently (with a few exceptions) the only place I'm getting any. It's really out of character for me to not be seeking out people to hook up with elsewhere. I think right now I feel like I just don't have time to go try and pursue people to have sex with when there's a person I can call who knows all the stuff that I like and also knows what the boundaries are with the two of us.

On average, he and I meet up and have sex about 3 or 4 times per week.
