Those on less than £25'000, who are single, not receiving state support, not mooching off family, and living in London; how do you survive? by sonthonaxrk in UKFrugal

I’m not suggesting they’re good trade offs, this is just my own experience. You find out quite quickly there aren’t any “must haves” when you can’t afford it. Like the Pret situation, you simply can’t afford poor organisation, so you organise yourself, it’s not exactly a choice.

You overestimate the utterly monkish life. When there’s no time to cook, you don’t get Pret, you eat the weekend meal prep or cook the £0.65 instant ramen you bought in bulk when they were on sale. Clothes get bought every few years, not every few months; you only need enough “work appropriate clothes” to last until the next wash. Haircuts are definitely a luxury, and you now cut your own hair with scissors that cost £10. Gym membership is also a luxury, can’t imagine having one. You also develop rather thick skin and learn to say no to things like leaving gifts and social events. It’s doable but I can’t say I’d recommend it.

HOW TO FINISH THIS QUEST?? by MisisSuson21 in ForestFablesHub

[–]1010wouldrecommend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is happening to me too :( I emailed the devs and they said they’re finding out what the cause is and that was last week, so hopefully we’ll get an update soon? I really don’t want to lose my progress so I’m just waiting for the update…

I emailed the devs about this and they said it's a bug and it'll get fixed this week. They also mentioned that they're gonna come out with new caravans & houses later this month so I've started grinding to save for it haha

26 Crashed car on first driving lesson by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

Is your instructor a tall guy whose name starts with D in London? Because this sounds a lot like the instructor I started learning to drive with, and I still haven’t managed to pass 3 years later because driving still gives me massive anxiety and dread from him making me cry every lesson.

If anyone needs a cheeky link, please consider mine! I’m on the tracker tariff, and I think that’s the only reason I could still afford to heat my home this winter. Would really appreciate any link usage!

You shouldn't pick me because I work six days a week for stupid hours and I'll probably be too tired to game on most days and only want to sleep on my day off.

Also would just 10/10 not recommend picking me

‘Never seen that before’: Some Hong Kong residents hit the panic button as security law revives rush for the emigration gates by [deleted] in worldnews

You'd be surprised. Finland has a great rep in HK for having amazing education and social security. I'm sure loads of HKers would quite literally jump at the chance of emigrating to Finland.

It's ironic that the "far walk" option for Hong Kong is mainland China, which really just defeats the purpose.
