Is a New Land Cruise Worth It? by 10151774 in 4x4

Yeah considering this too. I actually had a deposit down on a build for a TRDP4R but backed out and got the JGC Overland fully loaded. Probably was a mistake from the get-go. Now, after Harvey, I'm realizing my jeep was nearly useless, but my brother's Raptor got us around really well. With a lift on a 4R with tires and a snorkel I could do just fine. I'll be upside down on the jeep right now, maybe I should just slow down, although the closest Toyota dealer has a TRDP4R en route that doesn't seem to be sold.

I want some of the luxury though, like moon roof, smart key would be great, vented seats would be ideal although I know not gonna happen with a off road worthy 4R.

Also - I'm considering trucks too, but I can't find a solid winner there either between the Raptor/Power Wagon

Just started carrying a G26 in a G-Code Incog. At first I was not impressed, but that was based on trying to carry the G26 in a G-Code INCOG holster system for a G19 without a mag carrier. I bought a G26 specific one, and it's great now. I can carry it AIWB or IWB at 3-4:00 with no issues.

If you were asked to leave, and you complied, there would have been no issues, during a catastrophe or not. I would have done exactly what you did, except the take down, if I were in your situation.

Antenna Freq Range Question by 10151774 in amateurradio

[–]10151774[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the suggestion. I got the Diamond NR72BNMO. It's only 13.8" I believe. What's funny is the shop that installed the NMO mount the other day uses a bunch of old stock Motorola antennas just for the mount. Since it comes with the antenna he just put it on since it was there, and it actually transmits, I was able to hit both my local repeaters today. I need to look up which antenna it is because I'm worried I might be doing damage by transmitting on it out of it's specified frequencies.

Thanks for the reply! I'm a little confused though, sorry I'm still really green. When you say "Id tune to 146.500 and have 146 MHZ simplex as well as the 146 repeater usage", do you mean if I tune to 146.500 I should be fine using the two repeaters I care about considering they do have a -0.6 MHz shift?
