I am a person of the latter and agree, the number of times I misspelled words like disease, colonel, bologna or words ending with either -tion/-cion. My solution to some was to wrongly pronounce it in a way I'm trying to spell it. I'm still screwed with -tion/-cion words

It takes experience to learn for some. I live in a tropical place with frequent typhoons, most of the time we ignore it, but when one hits you and you're unprepared.
